    Didn't ESPN.com run an article the other day about MLB teams using the DL creatively to keep from having to released high priced players that haven't been living up to their contract? We could do that for Patton if they're so worried about losing him. There's a minimum # of days he has to be on the active roster in order to be able to send him down next year.

    Is he still dating Dusty Baker's daughter? If so he has a very easy way to get himself into more money. According to baseball reference, He made about 14 mil between '02-'08, so unless hes an idiot, he should be set in that department. If he wasn't an idiot, he'd be able to lay off the low off-speed pitch a foot outside the zone, and he'd be in the majors. lol

    The Yankees have had 3 all stars the last 2 seasons. The Mets had 2 last year. And the Cubs are one of the 4 teams the national media cares about, so complaining, the year after we had 17 all stars, seems a bit off.

    There wasn't any incentive for the Padres to trade a cheap outfielder by the name of Jason Bay (along with Oliver Perez) for Brian Giles, either. But it happened. Jason Bay had like 3 major league ABs and Oliver Perez had an ERA in the mid 5s that season. There's no comparison.

    Your right he's not, but Freel has never played a game at SS in his career. It's not Freel's fault he never played for Tony LaRussa.

    Yea I see one of our ex posters is right there leading the charge too. Surprise surprise I don't think Ender was ever banned or anything. He knew what he was talking about, just talked about it from a Brewers slant, and wasn't obnoxious. He was fine.

    I always thought of Dope having a good work ethic and Von Joshua is a very good hitting coach. IIRC, he had a hand or wrist injury and what he probably needed was to recover from that fully. Dope never made it to AAA to get to be around St. Von. He'd probably hit 350 under his teachings. I'd probably hit 250 with some coaching from Joshua.

    I dunno, I can see it. Pullen and Clemente are good guards. They're adding Wally Judge, a 5* power forward. Dominque Sutton has some game. They only lose Darren Kent from last year's team--not that big of a loss. And against all odds, Frank Martin hasn't looked totally overwhelmed every time he stepped on the court. They won 22 games last year. I think they're the second best team in the North and could contend for the 4th in the Big 12. Ranking them 17 is a bit high, but I wouldn't gripe with anyone putting them in the 20-25 range. They hire a new coach?
