    You think if OSU goes undefeated in the Big Ten with a noncon win over USC that they wouldn't belong in the title game?

    I think his point about having the long layoff before bowl season is valid. I also agree that the Big Ten is not as good as they think they are, and that in general, their clinging to tradition hampers their ability to keep up with the Joneses And that's fine, if that's all they're interested in, they can play a schedules like the PAC 10 going into the first week of December. The conference title game is a cash grab. Missouri's the only team listed in that article that would make the slightest bit of sense. The conference title game is the only "benefit" to adding a team. Adding multiple teams would be crazy, and will never happen.

    That article(like most regarding Big Ten expansion) is pretty much garbage. Ooooh, let's add Rutgers, Syracuse, and Iowa St. That way we can have an unwieldly conference with 3 new terrible teams. Yeah telling Notre Dame that Purdue, MSU, and UM won't play them anymore certainly will force them to lose money by joining the Big Ten. Notre Dame does usually have a hard time finding opponents so this makes sense.

    The issue was/is they could've have cleared up money for Bradley in other ways. Non-tendering Gaudin/not signing the utterly contemptible Aaron Miles brings to you within ~1.5M. Failing that, the combo of no Kevin Gregg and Aaron Miles would have actually cost less than keeping DeRosa + Wuertz. It was typical focus on what a guy doesn't do by Hendry, and as usual he kept that tunnel vision going all offseason.

    Rose timed it perfectly, and Rondo didn't get much of a jump. It was a poorly designed play(Vinny-esque) by the Celtics, and a great defensive play by Rose.

    Bill James also considers Allen the exception to the rule regarding clubhouse chemistry, that Allen's miserable [expletive]-titude actually made his teammates worse.

    There's a pretty fine line between an intentional trip, and a late getting to the spot trip. I put it on the same level as whoever busted up Pierce last night. It only got attention becasue Hinrich was cut open.

    I really don't think Hinrich tripping over Rondo can be placed in the same category as the foul on Miller which I really don't think can be placed in the same category as the Hinrich toss. Hinrich tripped over Rondo's foot, I don't think there's any way to prove any sort of intent there. then Rondo went to foul a guy going for a layup to prevent him from scoring, and winds up smacking him in the face then Rondo gets tangled up with Hinrich, and loses his temper tossing Hinrich into the table. Any one of these on their own is a non-story, the problem is the escalation of events.
