  1. This is where the Cubs really stick the knife in. Now suddenly the relievers will start getting people out, but they wont sniff a run in the next few innings.
  2. Was there any horsefeathering doubt. Good bye Cubs, see you in 2019.
  3. It's amazing to see an entire team collectively piss down their own leg.
  4. I've pretty much given up on Carl ever realizing his potential as an elite closer, at this point point I'm instead wondering if I trust him on the playoff roster in a tight game.
  5. When the Brewers take the division, does that pretty much wrap up Yelich as MVP now? I don't see how you can give it to Baez if that happens.
  6. Thankfully for Archer, the Cubs are equally inept at scoring runs. It's been a joy watching this offensive behemoth slug its way to mediocrity.
  7. I just don't get how outside of Baez and Zobrist, just about every single player fails to meet expectations offensively. Not a single player benefits from the HR explosion over the last couple years and now were about 2 or 3 games from being ranked 12th in runs scored.
  8. Down to 8th in MLB for runs scored, just 5 runs away from 13th, or pretty much just an average offense. Combine that with the 1st half SP struggles and half the bullpen being hurt or incredibly over worked and it's surprising they're still on the pace they are.
  9. I really find it strange that the Cubs were like the only team who have gained absolutely nothing from this sudden HR explosion in baseball. If anything, our guys are hitting fewer HRs now, while Albies has already hit 6 more HR this year then he did in in entire Milb career spanning 4 years.
  10. Agreed. Nagy’s playcalling was awful. If we wanted conservative we would have kept Fox. Very disappointing. Basically 15 scripted plays and Mack almost carried a garbage team to a win but our high profile CB blew the game I think it's very telling that the coach basically took the ball out of Trubisky's hands in the 2nd half preferring to try and run out a clock with 7 mintues to go in a game.
  11. What an awful cumulative choke job. Lost a lot of faith in Trubisky who looked scared and will someone teach Kyle Fuller how the hell to catch a football?
  12. Edwards just gets rattled so incredibly easily. His stuff is incredible, but but he completely lacks the ability to fight through tough innings.
  13. .380babip and making overall worse contact this year than last. Clearly his numbers are totally sustainable.
  14. I have zero faith in them to call it correctly, in fact I believe they would actively torpedo the project out of spite.
  15. Apparently TB also got a PTBNL and that player is Shane Baz, the Pirates #4 prospect and 1st round selection from the 2017 draft.
  16. Schoop at SS, Shaw at 2B, Moose at 3B and Aguilar at 1B. This may be the single most awful defensive infield in decades. I'm sure the pitchers are all going to love that.
  17. Brewers are in on Schoop and perhaps Gausman. I imagine one of Corbin Burnes or Keston Hiura has to be involved and I couldn't be happier.
  18. This was pretty much my first thought. How do we turn this into Kela.
  19. Would have had to be Lange or a healthy Alzolay to match Tate and I wouldn't have been thrilled with either. There's a ton of cheaper options out there.
  20. He's playing as well as he ever will. He's not particularly great on the bases, he has average power at best and his average is being hoisted up by a crazy high babip that shouldn't exist for a guy who hits as groundballs as he does. Yeah he's great defensively, but the offense is a mirage and if someone wants to pay for that mirage then I think most of us are willing to let them.
  21. This is going to be a game where Theo has to go down and apologize to the players on the field just like after that Matusz disaster a few years back.
  22. Apparently the Cubs are in on Jeurys Familia. I wonder if a Wheeler+Familia package is feasible without touching the MLB squad.
  23. Ah, the good old extend me or trade me ultimatum.
  24. Why do we want a guy who already has a partially torn UCL like Otani did when he came over? Degrom and Syndergaard absolutely, but I'll pass on giving up assets for Lugo.
