  1. Chances that Almora and Russell are both in the line up tomorrow?
  2. Kimbrel escapes, but damn he really needs to get these walks under control.
  3. Thank you Tatis, not sure why you were bunting, but thank you.
  4. Ok seriously, get him the horsefeathers out of this game.
  5. Russell and Almora having quite the day. They're both totally deserving of the starts they get.
  6. Looks like Almora leading off yet again and Schwarber continuing to sit. I'm completely over Maddon at this point.
  7. Very close to just writing him entirely off.
  8. Only 53 PAs, but a 28.3K% at short season A ball shouldn't be happening with an advanced bat.
  9. God I hope his arm stays attached, if he can throw in back to back days he'd be a great answer to the need for a lefty reliever this year and beyond.
  10. Yup, because the owners need even more money to line their pockets. We can't have the kids getting their actual market value or anything.
  11. Well when 53 MLB guys are on pace for 30+ HR in 2019 compared to 27 in 2018, I'm not even surprised anymore.
  12. So it has now been a full month since Rizzo last hit a HR and going all the back to June 1st his SLG is .438. I know the OBP is still there, but I'm starting to get a bit worried here.
  13. And Monty always wanted to be a starter...could be that the Cubs had made him some promises to try to get him somewhere that he could do that. [tweet] [/tweet] So basically it was a start me or trade me. Doesn't seem like a lot of layers to me.
  14. Him starting to finally hit well is a terrific thing in advance of trade season. I'm more interested in having a potential Almora replacement since the trade market is pretty much lacking in any interesting CFers not named Starling Marte.
  15. Unless Caratini is on the move or Contreras is primarily going to the OF I just don't get it at all. With as weak as this bench is already they simply can't afford to roster 3 catchers, especially when one is of the no hit variety. There's already enough offensive black holes. Not to mention that it was an overpay, but I don't particularly care about that since Montgomery was barely seeing the mound anyways.
  16. Tony Thomas and Jay Jackson were my guys back then. I thought they were both future studs.
  17. Heyward up to an .826 OPS, can't say I saw that coming this year.
  18. Yeah he has a fantastic FIP(2.86), but xFIP and SIERA don't like him nearly as much(3.75 and 3.80). He's actually giving up more Hard and Med contact this year than last, but his BB/9 is the best of his career(2.07). Having a very nice year, but not as nice as fWAR is showing.
  19. Castro is a really good comp. I'd expect a few more walks but that's not enough for me to quibble. Yeah I like a Starlin/Lemahieu (taking out some of the Coors inflation) type with more walks as a comp and also at least a little more versatile defensively. Lemahieu has been the high end comp I've been running with. A solid MLB regular with peak years that that sit in him the 3.5 to 4fWAR range.
  20. Yeah, like Nolan Gorman who I believe found himself at #20.
  21. Hopefully Strop and Kintzler go immediately on the market.
  22. Speaking of Gurriel, Yuli has been on a ridiculous tear too. Since June 23, a streak of 11 games and 49PA, he has put up a .400/.449/1.0167 line with 9HR.
