  1. Peyton has carried your team all by himself. He is so good it's almost unfair. Best player in the league imo and it's not really that close right now. I'm very satisfied with my smoke and mirrors 3-1 record It's interesting that, considering how long he's already been in the league, he's having perhaps his best season ever. And that's with Harrison being released and Gonzalez being injured. You're right that he's carrying my team. I expect to be in a world of hurt during his bye week.
  2. It would be interesting if more playoff teams did this on the last day of the season as a reward for making the playoffs. It would have been fun to see Z managing the Cubs the last day of last season.
  3. http://assets.hulu.com/shows/key_art_the_a_team.jpg If they ever do a remake Bradley should take Mr. T's role as B.A., since Bad Attitude describes Bradely perfectly.
  4. High score of the week for the second week in a row, more than 30 points ahead of the next highest score. Damn, my team's good. And for the next two weeks Manning is playing against teams that have a combined total of zero wins so far this year. He should continue to put up good numbers.
  5. Not sure if you were serious, but they do, in fact, exist. They're both 1-AA teams. Jackson State is probably best known as Walter Payton's alma mater. And they're not 1-AA teams. They're Football Championship Subdivision teams. [-X
  6. Oh, and it looks like I'll be taking over first place this week based on total points tie-breaker, as well as possibly having the second highest score of the week for the second week in a row. :P
  7. It would be nice if Tinoisamoa and Hillenmeyer can return after the bye. That too.
  8. Hopefully with the bye week to rest Hester and Knox will be ready to go against the Falcons.
  9. Milton Bradley, is that you? :D
  10. I didn't even notice it until I saw your post, but the a-holes at DirecTV apparently took ESPN Classic off of all their packages except the most expensive Premier package. Completely unacceptable BS.
  11. ok. of course, had this week not counted, you would have lost by more. Notice he didn't say this a week ago, when he needed this week to try to come back. :D
  12. Doug Davis gets some of the credit too.
  13. Not that I have a vote, but I agree with you. I don't think the points earned by Tigers and Twins in Tuesday's game should count against the cap either.
  14. This is BS. All that should be concluded from the lack of improvement under Joshua is that it just shows that the problem was with the players, not the coach (which is what many of us were saying anyway when Perry got fired). I hope Joshua remains with the organization, but I wouldn't blame him one bit if he gets mad and leaves. I'm sure somebody else has the sense to hire him at least as a minor league hitting instructor if not at the major league level.
  15. Oops.
  16. I thought I might be in trouble this week, because my running game seemed like a possible mess due to injuries and bye week for Williams. But then I noticed my opponent has three players on bye week in his active lineup. I'm no longer concerned.
  17. Is there any indication that he would? The only managing job he had was with a team that was rivaled in lack of healthy talent only by the 2009 Nationals. We don't know how Trammell would do for a full season as Cubs' manager, but it was under his watch when the Cubs turned around the 2007 season (the turnaround coincided with Lou's suspension and Trammell's stint as acting manager).
  18. One would think Hendry would have learned his lesson about advertising that a player must be traded after the Sosa fiasco. Nope.
  19. Yeah, an Olympic website for a non-Olympic year will sell like hotcakes.
  20. If the championship round were cut to one week (as it is in another fantasy league I'm in) we could keep the balanced schedule and still not include the last week of the MLB season. I agree that it really messes things up; same with including week 17 of the NFL season in fantasy football. The leagues I'm in have gotten away from that.
  21. Maybe the 50 days off will be enough time for King to write another horror novel. :D
  22. I'm a bit surprised IU didn't receive any votes in either poll. I didn't expect them to be ranked, but with their only loss being a close road loss against a ranked team I thought they'd at least get noticed. You're surprised that a team that everyone thought would be awful isn't ranked because they barely beat EMU, WMU, and beat Akron? To be honest, since I'm out of the area, I knew their record but hadn't paid that close attention to the scores. They should have a chance of winning the MAC, though, since they're undefeated. :D

  24. I'm very unimpressed with the Panthers this year. I have a ticket for their game against Washington on Oct. 11. Right now I'm not really looking forward to it. Good think they're only my third favorite team; my other favorites (Bears and Colts) have me feeling a lot more optimistic.
  25. Yes, that's me. High score of the week, thanks to 4 TDs from Peyton Manning.
