  1. Sounds like Hester missed practice again yesterday and may not go. Harvin is guaranteed to get you 0 points in week 9. At least he can't get negative points. :D
  2. In other words, Hendry.
  3. Kind of hard for him to NOT listen to you when you said it three times. :D
  4. Listen to Bruce, Jim. He knows what he's talking about.
  5. Apparently 90% of us are pessimistic at the moment and 10% are optimist. However we are all in agreement that Harden is worth signing. Not quite.
  6. They have until Dec. 1 to offer arbitration to their own free agents. And I don't think the April time frame mentioned in the article came from the Cubs' medical staff; it was just Muskat reporting what is a typical time frame for this type of surgery.
  7. I'd only be strongly in favor of getting rid of him if he insists on bringing back the same offensive coaches. He shouldn't even be given that choice. If they miss the playoffs and Smith is retained it should be under the explicit condition that the offensive coaching staff is replaced. If Lovie isn't OK with that and chooses to resign that's his decision.
  8. I went with above average. I'd rather he surprise me by being elite than disappoint me by being above average. Trying to keep my expectations somewhat in check.
  9. I hope 10% have this right rather than 90%). :D (And I'm in the 90%.)
  10. Two part question.
  11. That's a pet peeve of mine too (although not enough to make an issue of). Resign is what people do to avoid being fired.
  12. Coach Cut is doing a heluva job there. I think he's ACC Coach of the Year, especially if they make a bowl game (and they're only one win away from eligibility).
  13. I wonder how many of the people who voted Yankees in 6 did so after the game tonight.
  14. I noticed that Duke got three points in this week's USA Today poll. It has to be the first time in years that they've gotten votes other than the traditional 25th place vote Steve Spurrier always used to give them in the preseason poll.
  15. According to the article he'll likely be back in the rotation by sometime in April, so it may not be much of a big deal. Maybe they'll just skip the 5th spot the first time or two through the rotation.
  16. Duke guard Nolan Smith has been suspended for two games because he played in an unsanctioned summer league. He will sit against mighty UNC-Greensboro and Coastal Carolina. Hello 0-2.
  17. I think the 2003 models stack up against the Yankees' staff. Since then, not so much.
  18. Easy. The Bartman's father is Homer, and the Cubs hit 13 homers in the series. Also The Simpsons air on Fox, and future Cub Chad Fox was on the Marlins. :D
  19. I was with you until the word lose. Then you completely lost me. I'm not sure what you mean. Both teams lost game 5 on the road before returning home for games 6 and 7. He means that the series ended after game 4 in 2003. He doesn't know what you mean by "lose." Ah, got it. Bartman and Gonzalez never happened.
  20. It's on!
  21. I was with you until the word lose. Then you completely lost me. I'm not sure what you mean. Both teams lost game 5 on the road before returning home for games 6 and 7.
  22. This Series reminds me of the 2003 NLCS. The Yankees (Cubs) take a 3 games to 1 lead over the Phillies (Marlins), then lose game 5 but return home only needing to win 1 game out of 2. We all know how 2003 ended; hopefully this will be a repeat.
  23. Is Cotts expected to be ready by the start of the season after having TJS? Or will it be sometime during the season? Not that I want to see him anywhere near the 25-man roster, but if he's healthy I would think he will be in contention for a bullpen spot. He didn't have the surgery until early July, so I don't think he'd be expected to be back close to the beginning of the season. Maybe around the All-Star break.
  24. So when are we doing the prospect draft?
  25. Carolina's two-headed running monster was good to me today. Williams' yards helped me in this league, and Stewart's touchdowns helped me win in my other league. I thought I'd get similar production from Pittsburgh's combination of Parker and Mendenhall, but Parker seems to have disappeared.
