  1. I was going to blame WikiLeaks, but I like your scapegoat better.
  2. If I recall the details he was ordered by his coach to throw at Molina, but that still doesn't excuse it. He should have known it was wrong and not done it.
  3. There's a blast from the past. Wonder how his life has turned out. Was it a college or minor league game that he rearranged that guy's face in the on deck circle? College. Hit Anthony Molina in the face. I know he got drafted too, but I'm pretty sure he never got any higher than A ball, if he even got there. His professional career consisted of four plate appearances in independent ball (Evansville Otters, Frontier League) in 2000. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=molina001ant
  4. I hope that's just a joke. Nope; no joke. Confirmed on his Baseball Reference page.
  5. That wouldn't be a felony, that would be a ticker-tape parade in his honor.
  6. Hey, Mark Peel. Who's Mark Peel? Used to be a regular around here who went by mlpeel. Really knowledgeable guy with prospects. He in fact was co-founder of the site along with Tim. His interests were primarily in the minor league system and he had a newsletter devoted to the system hosted here.
  7. Shortly after I made my post I was unable to access NSBB at all. Now it seems fine.
  8. I've been getting this message too around 2:15 P.M. Eastern time, so it's not just a foreigner issue (although it would be nice to be able to blame it on them :P ). Specifically, I've been getting the message after I try to submit a post.
  9. Vick's screen name is Delroy Lindo.

    I'm out

We've had former members still having access to the forum for several years and I don't think it causes any problems. I think Juan still had access during his time away from the league. It's not unusual for a former member to return to the league, and being able to keep up with it may ease a member's return. We could always remove a specific former member if he/she causes trouble in this forum after leaving the league.
  11. Da Bears!
  12. 29. Green Bay (12-7)

I agree you've given him fair chance. I can understand not checking in with NSBB during the offseason, but he should have received your personal e-mails and responded if he's interested. BTW, I mailed my payment today.

Yes, it was Juan's team that Vick took over. I believe that was the only change during the year.
  15. I looked it up, and UNC in fact was the other #1 team FSU beat (in 2008).
  16. And the 4th time during the same period that they beat a #1 team (I'm not sure who the other #1 team they beat was). Probably a UNC team. That would be my first guess, although it could have been somebody else in a nonconference game.
  17. And the 4th time during the same period that they beat a #1 team (I'm not sure who the other #1 team they beat was).
  18. That's not a good omen. I remember Dave LaRoche. I remember him too. He had several good years both before and after his time with the Cubs, but he sucked during his two years as a Cub.
  19. That may depend on how far the Bears advance in the playoffs. People may not get that bent out of shape if the Bears are coming off a Super Bowl win.
  20. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/topic?f=6&t=58748
  21. He retires with an MLB record 601 saves, ahead of Mariano Rivera (559), who now becomes the leader among active players. He will return to the Padres in a currently undefined front office role. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6012723
  22. #19 also has Cubs connections, although unpleasant. It was Game 4 of the 2003 Marlins-Giants NLDS, when the Marlins eliminated the Giants to set the stage for the ill-fated NLCS. The starting pitching matchup was former Cub Dontrelle Willis vs. future Cub Jerome Williams.
  23. Both Hokes were starters on the Ball State defense during the 1978 season when they went 10-1 (that was my first year as a student there).
  24. Yep; -1 for Sanders, -4 for the entire team.
