  1. It's not the second half yet. That's when Marquis usually implodes. I'm just mad cause the Rockies fleeced us. Luis freaking Vizcaino, give me a break. Two words: Contract yr. Marquis isn't a "bad pitcher" but he isn't this good, and I am not worried about it, either. The Cards should be pissed tho, cause he's better then anybody in their rotation not name Carp or Wainwright.
  2. But Barker for over 3m? Shouldn't have gotten a nickel over 2.5. I wonder if the Hawks did this to appease the NHLPA?
  3. That's the problem. To fair the relievers that I would trade Fox for are not available, and the one that are, simply is not worth Fox. I'm not above trading Fox, but not for a "reliever." I think the Cubs could land nice solid reliever without giving up Fox.
  4. I really hope not. I think Fox is worth more then a "AL reliever." Let him play out the season to raise his value and then move him to the AL in the offseason. Trading Fox for a "reliever" doesn't improve the tean.
  5. They've busted others for clerical mistakes. The NFL busted the Bears on a clerical mistake. It's a simple procedure that everybody gets right most of the time. Why did these idiots send this in normal mail? Is that where they are cutting costs? Consider the fact that the NHL finished their investigation without punishment bodes well for the Hawks. I think the NHLPA will drop the issue if Versteeg and/or Barker are signed to nice deals (not market setting deal, but a deal with a significant bump in pay) or dealt to team(s) who can give the two players nice contracts.
  6. June 9th against Houston in Houston off Moehler. So yeah, it's been awhile.
  7. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ZHI6dGLCL._SS500_.jpg Pretty sure they were the dragons. I believe they were call the Miami Gators....
  8. Will apparently Tallon claims they did, but they didn't take into consideration "Canada Day." Which makes no sense, because the deadline this year was June 29. I'm only going by what I heard. And again, I don't think much will come of this, to be honest.
  9. Will apparently Tallon claims they did, but they didn't take into consideration "Canada Day."
  10. This was on the cover of the Sports page today in the Tribune. Hawks brass think it will be worked out... if it's not... losing Versteeg and Barker would pretty much eff us realllllllly hard. Personally, I think this is much ado about nothing. Tallon wasn't trying to screw players, and it is clearly wasn't malicious. This was a honest to god mistake by the organization, and I believe NHL isn't going to severely punish the Hawks for a clerical mistake.
  11. .310/.358/.563/.921. I know this is a small sample size (71 at bats), but come on the Cubs can't justify sending Fox down with these numbers, when there are better options out there. I mean, Shark/Hart/Patton/Fuld (excluding Shark) none of these guys should be in the clubs' future plans, meaning losing them for nothing isn't a big deal. If the Cubs send Fox down, I am going to be sooooooooooooooooo pissed
  12. Exactly. 3 out of 4 against the Brewers sounds great to me. I think we'll beat the crap out of the Brewers tomorrow on MLB the show, and then I'll have to see how well it goes in live action..
  13. Damnit to hell. McNair was one of the toughest players to ever play football and fun to watch playing. I hope they nail the SOB that did this by ever inch the law required. What a crap day.
  14. It looks bad because of Fox is in his batting stance. But nine times out of ten that pitch is called a strike. The Cubs were fortunate to get the call.
  15. No. Jarrett does have one brother name Josh, but again Micah and Jarrett are not related.
  16. I didn't say that, I said I much rather have the bad player with a cheaper contract over the equally bad player with the dumbarse contract. Sam Fuld-ugly contract>Aaron Miles+stupid contract.
  17. Not me. Wait. You would take a guy who got sent down from AAA to AA last year because he wasn't that good to a guy who's been on a MLB roster for quite a while now? I hate Miles but at this point he's better than Fuld. I hope I'm wrong and Fuld continues to play well but odds are that he will be pretty bad eventually. Miles isn't even ML caliber, much less be starting in the lineup. I'm not saying Fuld is, but at least his contract is easier to justify then Miles.
  18. All those moves sound good to me. It would also be awesome if we could find away to sneak Aaron Miles into a deal for a bullpen arm. Maybe other teams don't realize he's Aaron Miles... Hendry has to man up and cut his losses with Miles. He shouldn't have been signed in the first place. He can barely play SS so what kind of bench option is he really? I'd rather have Blanco on the team. It's so frustrating seeing Miles have so many at bats this season. Yep. Blanco's glove is really good with his bat being similar to Miles. Push come to shove I much rather have Blanco then Miles (and that is before contract's come into play).
  19. I remember awhile ago that Soriano said he was willing to help the team anyway he can. Moving off of leadoff spot for spell could really help the Cubs and Soriano.
  20. World Series, here we come! Neil Cotts part 2, perhaps?
  21. Who are we to argue what the nice gentleman behind the plate said that pitch? GJ, ump. ;) ;)
  22. Which means AI to the Bulls makes absolutely NO SENSE at all. As for SG I think I much rather see Hinrich and Salmons split time there (depending on matchup) instead of bringing in some crappy or over-the-hill SG that doesn't help the Bulls.
