  1. I know, right. This is a mistake, IMO.
  2. Um........I don't know if I like this. LSU looking like Washington, Oklahoma wearing white helmets. I don't know if this is wise... http://friendsoftheprogram.net/2009/11/10/nike-pro-combat-the-complete-collection-with-slogans/
  3. Umm.....Milton Bradley? By putting Bradley on the market to trade, Hendry has admitted it was a mistake. The problem isn't Hendry can not admit his mistake, it's the mistakes he's willing to admit to. He'll admit to Bradley being a mistake, but not Miles, despite Miles being arguably the worst player in MLB.
  4. I still can't believe people still think Jeter is a good defender. It was very obvious that Tex clearly helped Jeter big time.
  5. Two words: Negotiating ploy. You ain't fooling anyone, Jim.
  6. I could live with that. Considering tht Kevin Millwood is a FA after the 2010 season (I believe), this is definately my favorite option.
  7. Dagnabit UMFan, you couldn't atleast put that in a spoiler? I'm trying not to get excited about the possibility of this offseason, but this isn't helping. :?
  8. For as talented as Ole Miss is, Houston Nutt showed his true colors as a coach. He cannot coach a team that has expectations put on them. Put them in the underdog and Nutt can succeed, but expect him to win and he folds like a wet paper bag. So I really like Tennessee's chances against Ole Miss. As for Snead, he is talented, but he gets easily rattled by any kind of defense (USCeast, Alabama, etc) so if Monte can create blitz's that cause confusion (which, IMO isn't that hard to do with Snead) with Jevon you guys will kick Ole Miss butt. Defensively, Ole Miss is one of three physical defenses Bama's has played (USCeast and Tenn be the other two with LSU being a step behind) so I expect a hard fought game. But with the way Crompton is playing, I think Tennessee wins a tight game.
  9. Oh look, the Bears getting their arse handed to them, AGAIN. If Lovie and his band of idiots isn't punted away from Chicago this offseason then I am going to be pissed.
  10. I guess if Ben Grieve and Micah Hoffpauir can "play" the position, then I supposed Fox can to. Ultimately, it wouldn't surprise me if Fox is dealt to an AL team.
  11. I'm rewatch the game, and I counted at least 3 pass inference calls that should have been made against Peterson. McElroy played a pretty good game and if he plays like this for the rest of the year, then I have no concerns about the QB position. McElroy isn't terrible, but he isn't great either. I think of McElroy as a Kyle Orton type QB. And Bama tends to win games with those kind of QBs. (ie Jay Barker, John Parker Wilson) Besides I am very excited about the future of the QB position at Bama.
  12. Correct me if I am wrong, but did't LSU get a "favorable" call against GA that turned that game around? I agree the non-interception call was blown, and I do agreed the SEC refs have been notoriously bad this year, but to think the Bama and Florida are the only teams that get "favorable" calls is beyond ridiculous. Not to mention there were plenty of holding calls, and blatant push in the back that should have been called against LSU that wasn't called. Not to mention Julio Jones ws pretty much mugged in the end zone in the game against Tennessee near the end of the half that wasn't called. And in the Bama/LSU game Patrick Peterson was basically doing a clinic on pass inference on Jones ALL NIGHT LONG and few, if any, were called. It's the high profile calls that are being highlighted, but let's face facts, Bama has been screwed on some several plays, but the difference between a Bama team and say a Tennessee or LSU team this year is that Bama can play through a bad call and not let it affect them. Bottomline: this perception that Florida and Bama (I can't speak for Florida, only Bama) gets alot of "Favorable" calls is simply that.....a perception. Reality is refs are just doing a bad job this year. So if anybody wants to believe in the "SEC wants Bama/Florida in the SEC Championship game" conspiracy theory, fine, but anybody to believe that is to believe in fiction.
  13. I just don't think the Bulls players are sitting around in the clubhouse thinking, "Man I wish we had BG back." Over the course of the season Salmons/Deng will more then make us forget about Gordon. In fact, I am not missing BG. I don't care what the Bulls are thinking in the clubhouse. Gordon scored nearly 21 ppg last year, and so far this year (small sample alert), both Rose, Salmons and TT's ppg are down as well. Deng and Noah's improved ppg's barely make up for those 3 much less Gordon's numbers. Overall, the team is scoring FIFTEEN (!!!!) fewer ppg than last year. I just don't think/see the Bulls missing Ben Gordon and his vastly overrated offense.

  15. I agree. I think LSU got screwed on the pick/incompeletion, but c'mon man SEC officials have been criminals all season long, so it's not like they just started now. Besides, IMO this is karma for LSU. Remember that "excessive celebration" call pm AJ Green that was crap? The call change the momentum of the game in favor of the Tigers. (Yes, I know LSU was called with a bogus excessive celebration late in the game, but it didn't have the impact that the EC call against Green) So yes, IMO this is karma retribution for LSU. With that said, I am in favor of the SEC making it mandatory that ALL of it's referees go back to "Ref school."
  16. Myth. The Bulls are shooting about the same % this year as they did last year. Of course the Bulls are scoring about 8 points per games less this year, despite playing a slightly tougher five games this year as they did last year. The Bulls are not aggressive enough this year, as can see by the lower FTA so far (112 through 5 games this yr, as opposed to 149 attempts last year), and Gordon wasn't a real factor in getting to the line. Personally the Bulls are missing Rose's explosiveness moreso the Gordon's offense. The Bulls had an effective field goal percentage of .493 which was only good for 20th in the league. The problem is that they're at .427 so far this season which is second to last in the league. They were 7th in 3 point FG percentage last year and they're dead last so far this season (.381 vs. .234). You can attribute that to no Gordon and Salmons/Hinrich being ice cold so far. The good news is that their rebounding on the defensive glass is vastly improved. They're 3rd in defensive rebounding percentage so far when they were 28th last year. Deng and a consistent Noah have been huge their so far. Sadly, Thomas not getting much run has helped that too. Keeping in mind a small sample size so far I think you can expect that letting Gordon going and replacing him with Salmons at the 2 and allowing Deng to slide in at 3 has had the effect you'd expect--trading much better rebounding/defense for a drop off in outside shooting. The good news is that Salmons should start shooting better and Rose will get healthier to help mitigate the losses on offense. In other wrods the Bulls are not really missing BG at all.
  17. You upgrade defensively going from Dome/Bradley to Cameron/Dome, so I wouldn't mind a 1 yr (with a club option for 2011) deal for Cameron.

  19. Because if you wait for Wade to be a FA you have to convince him to take a less deal financially then what he would get from the Heat, and let me ask you this: how many players have you seen take a lesser deal from a new team and leave a max deal on the table? Very rare, if ever. The idea would be to trade for him in season to give your team that advantage to sign him long-term. With that said, if the Heat are in contention (or even if they are not) there is no chance the Heat will trade the only guy Heat fans pay to see.
  20. Until February, I'm not going to worry about the Hawks. Teams slump over a course of a season and the Hawks are no different and they are not playing at full deck. So, basically tread water until Toews and Hossa gets back and the Hawks will be fine.
  21. I didn't say you wouldn't get Luc, I'm just saying if you do get him it would be very good get. As for Dyer, I agree. I'm just going over what I've heard about Dyer. I don't think Dyer goes to Auburn, and quite frankly I think he ends up at Arkansas, to be honest. Play behind Oku and Brown or share time with Wingo? But it's a long way to go for NSD.
  22. It sounds like Michael Dyer will commit to Auburn tomorrow. Suffice to say I am a little surprise about this development. Apparently Malzahn has been on Dyer for awhile now.
  23. I wonder if this means BoSox will be trading JD Drew and re-signing Jason Bay? :-k
  24. He might not be ready to start next year, but we do have Tyler Bray (4 stars on Rivals) committed. He's raw but very talented. I didn't forget him, and I do like the kid's potential. How confident are you with Nick Stephens as your starter next yr?
  25. Can't disagree with this. But if McElroy can adjust to what defenses are trying to get him to do, he'll be fine. If not, Bama did get one of the country's best pro-style QB in Philip Sims (who says he will enrolled at Bama in January and has said he isn't planning on red-shirting and will be out to win the starter's' job in 2010), not to mention we have another Q that Saban is supposedly very high on in AJ McCarron. With that said, a healthy Colin Peek would be a big boost for McElroy.
