  1. Maybe so, but I have little to no interests in watching Cowboys/Giants game. (changes channel)
  2. Damn you, Fox. I have no interest in watching Giants/Cowboys, you stupid pricks.
  3. They did one year . . . . Yeah and before Woodson, it happen with Ernie Davis in 1961, and even then he was a two way player, and not a straight up a defensive player. Nonetheless, Suh should be in NY.
  4. I don't really like listening to "a friend heard from friend" type rumors, but if that is the case then I wish him nothing but the best at Florida State. I, for one, will not harbor any ill will towards Smart. But can we keep him till the National Championship Game, please? :D Congrats to FSU landing two pretty good prospects, a JUCO CB Mike Harris (who had committed to Bama eariler, but was pulled when he couldn't get a course transfer to Bama thus could not enroll early) and a pretty good LB prospect Jeff Luc. Wish you well in the post-Bowden era.
  5. Ndamukong Suh is a man-beast with no rivals. It's too bad that don't allow "defensive" players to win the Heisman, cause Suh has a great case for the award.
  6. I'm not afraid to eat crow. Major props on the win and I hope you guys, as an SEC representative, absolutely murder whomever you play in the title game. you guys still suck balls though... Not as much as Houston Nutt. (jab, jab).
  7. I would not be opposed to it, but unfortnately for Mr. Gerhart there are two things that hurt (which shouldn't, but will) lack of a game on championship week, and the fact he plays on the West Coast. Other then that I would vote for Gerhart. IMO, unless Colt has a huge game against Nebraska, I think Ingram sewn up the Heisman.
  8. I like you too, SSR. I am not going to go all pretentious, because I knew my team had this in them. And now you can see why I felt Bama was better then Florida. With that said, I have to do it once: :D) Oh, and OMC, I appreciate the hate man.
  9. I don't know how to feel about that. Gut feeling that Lane Kiffin is picking against Florida moreso then picking Bama. I just think this was another jab from Kiffin to Mey Probably a bit, but I doubt he picks Bama if he doesn't think they have a good chance to win. Ingram's going to have to have a monster day for the Tide to win. Two words: Trent Richardson. Watch out for this young man today.

  11. No thank you on any Hinrich for Harrington trade, because that would mean the Bulls would to rely on an aging Lindsay Hunter or a crappy Jannero Pargo as the backup PG. Get rid of that $9.5 million salary a year for the next couple of seasons. Get a solid backup PG then it would be a solid trade, if not, it's not worth giving up Hinrich.

  13. I like the fact that Al would give Rose another solid scorer, and he is an expiring contract. Not to mention he would get Taj Gibson out of the lineup. I kinda like the move, since the Bulls are not playing Thomas nor do they have any intentions of re-signing him. It improves the team this year, and it also improves the team chances at being a free agent winner 2010. Besides wouldn't it be funny if the Bulls landed a guy like James or Bosh, and the Knicks ends up with both Curry and Thomas? Now that would be hilarious.
  14. I agree that this move opens the door for Baker to move into the super sub role with the team but I have this funny feeling that this trade isn't going to open the door for Theriot move to 2B, but the opening to close the Castillo to the Cubs, Burrell to the Mets, Bradley to the Rays trade we've heard so much about. I hope I am wrong, tho.
  15. So unoffically the Red Sox essentially traded Alex Gonzalez and a 1st rd pick for Marco Scutaro? Really Boston? A moderate upgrade is worth giving up a 1st rd pick? They must be really down on Jed Lowrie.
  16. I am typically not a boxing fan, but this match if it happens is one I will definately buy.
  17. It makes sense, the Cubs DO need to sign a mediocre ex-Cardinal this offseason.
  18. If that is the case then I don't mind losing Smart, I really don't. As long as he is out of the SEC I'm fine. Smart has been an upgrade over Kevin Steele who split on XMas last yr. I seriously doubt that's the case, as Saban routinely gives Smart props. It may notbe public, but Smart definately knows Saban appreciates him. So I don't know who said that, but more then likely not true. Every team needs a quality DC like Smart. As I do agree he is one of the most energetic recruiters out there, hence the reason why I wasn't all that upset of losing Lance Thompson to Tennessee. So if this does happen (NOT till after the season) then FSU would be getting a hot name in the young coaching circles. But again, if this happen and FSU defense improves dramtically under Smart, then a HC job will be coming to Smart for 2011. So as long as you understand that Smart going to FSU is prolly a short stint at best, then you are ok. Make sure you have a successor in place. I rather lose Smart to FSU then Georgia.
  19. Kirby Smart is an Alabama boy who played college ball at GA and has degrees at both GA and FSU, so their are strong ties to all parties involved. The only difference between the parties is Nick Saban. Smart has coached under Saban at LSU, with the Miami Dolphins, and now at Bama. At this point the only way I see Smart leaving (and he will at some point) Bama is for his own head coaching job. After the 2010, Smart will be "THE" hot coaching name in college football and will be ready to for his own program. But in the event he does decide to jump to FSU then you guys would be getting a heckuva of DC, but it would be a very short stint, as I think Smart will be a HC by 2011. At this point if FSU is looking more at a long-term option for DC then Sal Sunseri is prolly the guy you should focus on.
  20. Shanahan isn't signing with Buffalo now or in the offseason. There is no hurry on Shanahan, and I think Mike is going to wait till the offseason and survey the potential to already open job opportunities that arises. I really don't think Buffalo will sign a "big name" coach.
  21. Urban Meyer didn't become a "hot name" for coaching AFTER he got to Utah, even with the success at Bowling Green. In fact Brian Kelly has had a longer track of success as a HC then Urban Meyer despite the level of competition. He went 118-35-2 at Grand Valley State with two national titles and five conference titles. Then at Central Michigan his teams in the three years there went 4-7 to 9-4, and currently he is 26-8 at Cincinnati. Urban Meyer had only been a head coach for four years before he got the UF, whereas Kelly had been a HC for over a decade before getting the Cincy job. Not to mention it hasn't hampered Jim Tressel going from Youngston State to Ohio State, so why do you think Kelly can't handle going from Cincinnati to Notre Dame? A fine coach is a fine coach, regardless of competition. Bob Davie was an assistant at Notre Dame before got to be a HC, that hasn't worked out. So this belief that because Kelly doesn't have the assisant coach resume like Meyer he can't and shouldn't be compared to Urban Meyer is ridiculous. Notre Dame would be wise to hire Brian Kelly if they have the opportunity.
  22. And yet I am still not afraid of losing Nick Saban. LSU fanbase is rabid and all, but for nearly thirty years they were pretty much doormats of the SEC until Nick Saban got there, excluding a few good seasons. SO again very few fanbases can match Bama fans intensity about college football. Terry Saban still does loves Louisana and they still have friends in the state, which is why I expect the family to return to Louisana for retirement. Otherwise there really isn't too many better jobs in America then the Bama job. That's not delusion that is fact. You can believe all you want about CNS will leave at the first opportunity, but you would be believing something that is a lie. And if Saban does decide to leave we have his protege already on the staff in Kirby Smart, so again I am not afraid of losing Saban for some reason. But again there is less then 10% chance of Saban leaving Bama at this stage of his coaching career. That's like saying Pete Carroll is deciding to leave USC to coach at Northwest Central State. If people don't think Pete Carroll will leave USC, and he has been to as many places in his career as Nick and only at USC has he been able to stay longer then five years, then why do people think Saban is automatically guarantee to leave? But hey he gets the benefit of the doubt, but Saban doesn't. That's okay
  23. Congrats to JQ for win number 500 in his career.
