  1. There's nothing clearly wrong with Kelly. But Stoops would be a home-run hire as opposed to Kelly's solid down-the-line double. JMO. Was Urban Meyer a solid down-the-line double for Florida? So Brian Kelly is Urban Meyer? At the time that Urban Meyer got the job at Florida, I would say yes.
  2. I don't know if I am the only one, but I am really digging these alternate jersey's. Which to me means the Hawks continue to have the best jersey's in hockey. But I also hope we get to see these jersey's more.
  3. What's the knock on Tuberville? I don't think he's a candidate for KU, but I'd like him to be. Dude was 52-30 in the SEC and he was at the secondary football school in his own state. He won a bunch of division titles and had a good record against top ten opponents. I'd love for KU to make a run at him, personally, unless there's something I'm missing. The biggest knock on Tuberville is when Bama signed Saban, Tommy essentially quit on Auburn especially during recruiting. If you are talking Kansas, which I assume you are, I think he would be good there. KSU isn't Alabama, nor does he have to compete against a coach like Saban for in-state talent. So yeah, I think Tuberville would be a solid get for Kansas.
  4. Charlie Strong is every bit the man his name suggests he is. I would tell Louisville to stay away from Tuberville, cause during the last 2 years at Auburn, he flat out quit on his the university on recruiting trail and left them in the position they are in today. Does that sound like a guy you want being your head coach? Charlie Strong is every bit the candidate his name suggests he is. I would recommend Louisville to get Charlie Strong, he is ready for his own program. Now if Notre Dame wants to sign Tommy Tuberville, I would have NO PROBLEM with that at all.
  5. I don't have Center Ice.
  6. FY: Carlos Dunlap of Florida was arrested this morning (around 3ish) for DUI. Don't know how it will impact the game
  7. Yeah it's just about what they did the last few games. Tonight, another Vs. game which means us Directv people are out of luck. Crock. Will probably listen online for awhile. I finally get to watch a Hawks game tonigh, first time since the playoffs.
  8. You guys are worse the Auburn fans. I know half you talking heads are messing with me, but for those who are serious I promise you Alabama will be his last major college job of his career. And there is 0% chance that Saban takes a job in the north again. He's found a fanbase that has match his intensity. Not to mention Terry and Kristin both absolutely loves Tuscaloosa (tho I do believe when Saban retires, he will retire to Louisana) so while the messing is purely comical and these kind of "fake rumors" will happen every (at the wishful thinking of SEC rivals) year I am fully confident Saban will be a Bama for the duration of his career. So either learn to tolerate Bama, or ignore us, either way Bama isn't going away anytime soon. \:D/ :D
  9. If they are already contacting Cowher and/or his representative then there is a chance that money may not be an object for the McCaskey's. Which means this could mean serious trouble for Lovie. But if the Bears do make this type move then it means that Angelo's butt would be on the hot seat next yr, which also means that he may have the urgency to improve this team. I agree with you that they COULD back out due to the demands (or maybe his demands are being overrated), but it tells me Angelo may be getting tired of Smith as a HC. This team not only is bad, but it has been declining since the Super Bowl, and is getting older and less talented.
  10. Contrary to popular belief not all Bama fans are as bad as you make us. Every fanbase have those that embarrassed their favorite team but that doesn't mean every Bama fan is an idiot and nutcase. Cause I can definately point to certain Tennessee fans I know (here in Bama land) that are some of the MOST ignorant and idiotic I've ever met. Trust me, Florida fans makes it easier to hate (because of their fanaticism of the QB whose name shall never be mentioned again) then Bama simply because of Spurrier. But hey if you want to hate Bama fine, because I rather be hated which means Bama is recognizable, over being loved and unheard, ie like TCU or Cincinnati. So as long as the hate is legitimate because Bama is constantly in the top 5 and battling for a national championship then I can live with the anti-Bama crowd. Besides where was this hate when Bama was down between 2000-2007? . Yankees and Phillies fans are to me what Bama is to you. I don't hate Tennessee, but there are certain coaches and fans that make it hard not to hate Tennessee. Besides if you want to talk good ole fashion football with good Bama fans go over to Tidefans. That site has several Tenn fans already on it and we talk good football talk without it getting itno it. I invite you to put aside your biased for Bama for a few minutes and check it out. Warning it is a bit Bama biased, but non Bama fans (trolls excluded) are not talked down to and is treated with respect. You don't have to sign up just go to the site a read a few threads. It may not change your perception of Bama fans but at least you would know there are those who are not stupid, ignorant and redneck.
  11. wut? I'm nervous about this offseason, but I'm confident right now that Cleveland will resign him. I think he's just been doing his best to make sure we spend the money to put a good team around him. Plus, Dan Gilbert is a fantastic owner and giggles at luxury tax. To me there is only two legit spots for James: Cleveland and Miami. NY and NJ are playing themselves OUT of the sweepstakes and no other teams seem to be attractive as a destination and/or don't have the money to throw at him and/or the players/draft picks to work out a s-n-t. The only team that should scare Cleveland fans is Miami.
  12. dude, you hadn't ever been to the Superdome. It is a MASSIVE advantage. It is so loud man. Like, your ears ring after leaving there. Opposing teams look stupid there. Yes I have. Its the exact same thing as going into Mall Of America field. The Vikings know what its like for the opposing team to go to MOAF. So yes it will be an advatage, just not as much as it would be if say.. the Packers were to play in NO. Same goes for if NO has to go to Minnesota. Minnesota's home field is loud, but I have never been to a stadium louder then the Super Dome.
  13. It should be, and with all due respect to the Vikings, IMO the Saints are a step better then the Vikings especially if that potential is played at the Super Dome.
  14. Agreed.
  15. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Hester, but nothing less then a 2nd rd pick.
  16. Carolina traded Kris Jenkins for a 3rd and a 5th, Detroit traded Shaun Rogers for a 3rd rd pick, and New England traded Richard Seymour for a 1st rd pick and Tommie Harris is younger by a quite a few years. So while I am not saying the Bears can get a 1st rd pick for Harris (very unlikely), I think the Bears could get a a draft pick or two from some team that believes a change of scenery would help Harris.
  17. Apparently the Tigers asked the Mariners for Brendan Morrow and Shawn Kelley for Edwin Jackson, FYI. Don't know if Jackson is worth that.
  18. National Champion in both football and baseball. Not a bad career at all for Chad Jones.
  19. That's assuming Tommie Harris will be back next yr, which I am convinced he might not be. As for the Adams trade, I think we need to reserve judgement on that for the time being. That trade wasn't made for this yr, but for next yr in preparation of losing one of the FA DE. So again, I think we have to leve the trade blank for the time being.
  20. I just say there could be some rough negotiations.
  21. Or you could stay neutral and not give a damn about the SEC Champsionship. But hey you can't expect a Volunteer fan to do something smart, except dew. Do what I do when Tennessee is playing for SEC Championship or a Bowl game......................just ignore them.
  22. They pull off what I consider a very good upset when they beat North Alabama. For those who don't know UNA is where Terry Bowden went to coach.
  23. Real bad. I had given Jerry and Lovie a free pass for a couple years, and after the Cutler trade I extended that for Angelo, but man, that is going to hurt big time in April. Now they'll be picking somewhere around 75, I guess. The Broncos and TB are gonna get nice picks though. I don't know if having a top 5/6 pick is considered a "nice pick" anymore. When you consider the high bust rate and the even higher contracts demands/possible holdout, I think having a top five pick is more of a curse then a reward. And when you take into consideration that this could be the last year for uncapped rookie salary, I think there is a real possibility that we might see more hardball negotiation by next yr's incoming rookies trying to get the most in their rookie contracts which could lead to perhaps an abnormally high amount of holdouts. I am not saying it will happen, I am saying the condition could be right for perhaps a very rough round of negotiations.
  24. Uhmm.......Miami?
