  1. I'm not taking shots at you dew, but I would concentrate on beating Memphis, Vandy and Kentucky, cause I seriously doubt Crompton will look good against Bama. I mean if Mallet and Snead looked horrible against Bama, I think Crompton might actually get killed in two weeks. And I agree with you, Crompton needed this game badly (and if this season doesn't get Richt canned, I don't know what will) and I happy for him, and the fact that his father didn't get thrown out of a game, for once. Good game for you guys, as I was quite surprise that Georgia looked HORRIBLE.
  2. I like Snead and I think he will be a good NFL QB, but if he decides to go to the NFL after this season, I will declare him a bust already. Snead has the ability but he clearly ISN'T READY for the NFL. Absolutely. I hate to say this statement seeing as I am a Cub fan also, but I definately "tipped my cap" towards Ole Miss and their D. If Houston could get them to play like this every week, plus get consistant offensive production, Ole Miss would be really scary. Ummm, McElroy is a RS Junior, (he graduated this past summer and is working on his masters right now), but yeah he is going to be a good one. But hey, what do you expect from somebody who broke Chase Daniel HS records? I have to say it again, but Ole Miss defense is really impressive.
  3. I finally saw that blown call by the LF ump on that "foul ball", and all I can say is Bud Selig and baseball will have a hard time convincing me that expanded instant replay isn't necessary and that they want to keep the "human element" part of the game. After that call coupled with bad calls in recent years and I think I want the "human element" taken out of the game. The Yankees win isn't specials, it's a typical Yankees postseason victory. Besides who didn't know that ARod was going to homer off Joe Nathan?
  4. Listening toSkip Bayless trying to defend Matt Holliday was beyond incomprehensible. The other guy made Bayless his female dog cause there is NO WAY Holliday's misses that fly ball in a normal situation. Go back and see the video again...Holliday's eyes were fixated on a object, not to mention Matt was manuevering the glove to make the catch. Then you consider the fact that he has played more the one game in the OF, and played in more the one game at Dodger stadium, and you then realize Matt Holliday simply missed the ball. Don't make excuses, just say he missed the dang ball. But man Bayless was really stretching on defending Holliday. As for Wainwright, I get that you don't want to throw Holliday under the bus, I get it, and I respect it, but don't make lame excuses.
  5. I don't care if he's shorter than Kiefer Sutherland, he was the best rebounder in the history of college basketball. That doesn't mean squat in the NBA. Actually, it does mean something. Rebounding is the skill that best translates from college ball to pro ball. Well he better be exceptional then, cause I don't see anything about Blair for which he has had this hype thrust upon him. I see a serviceable back PF in Blair, not some great rebounder.
  6. The Vikings aren't going to be THAT good. They'll lose some games to teams they shouldn't. Agree. Minnesota was going to roll early this season, especially with their legal system coming to the defense of their players. Favre doesn't have 16 quality games in him. And Peterson is a fumbling machine. They are going to lose a couple heartbreakers on top of the just the games they are likely to lose. By the time they see Chicago the first time, Favre will already be slipping. This is all going according to script. Let's enjoy. Not to mention Congress is going to take a look at the "Williams suspensions" in November, (a House subcommittee will look at the issue) ad there is still a chance that the Williams' Wall may have to serve out their suspensions THIS YEAR. Not saying it's going to happen, but there is still the possibility. So there is a chance that the Bears could be facing a Vikings team who season will be on the brink come November 29.
  7. People keeping saying Hendry is a "bottom 5 Gm in baseball" and that is not even remotely true. IMO there ae three catergories of GMs: 1: the really good, 2: Meh, and 3: the really bad. Hendry is in the "meh" catergory. And people who says Hendry is in the "bottom 5th" of GMs really need to toned done the overexaggeration.

    UFL

I think that is the endgame for the UFL. The thing is players cannot sign with an NFL team till after the league championship. IMO, there is more then a few players in the UFL that deserves to be in the NFL. So yeah, UFL is definately designed to be the minor league to the NFL.
  9. Sweep? No. The Dodgers are going to their "House of Horrors", their "Miami, Florida." So I wouldn't count on a sweep.
  10. Nonetheless, the punishment does NOT fit the crime. Suspension of up to 2 maybe 3 games, but being rule ineligible because he lied is really stupid.
  11. $7 million dollar man for the set up role? No thank you. Lou has already stated that Marmol will be his closer going into next season, so acquiring Jenks would be acquiring an awfully expensive set up man. So no thank you.
  12. Being rule ineligible is far too harsh of a punishment for Bryant. Suspended for a game or two, sure, but rule ineligible no. If they are going to rule that Bryant is ineligible to play, then NCAA needs to rule every team in America ineligible when they have celebrities, alumni, or former football players on the sideline. I am glad Bryant is appealing this decision, cause this was a horrible decision by the NZAA's.
  13. I don't know about that. Auburn's defense is as bad as their offense is good. (Not to mention Auburn's special teams is by far the wrost in the SEC) Ryan Mallet and Bobby Petrino must be salivating at the thought of carving up Auburn's "defense." The game can go either way, but I think the superior talent on offense by Arkansas gives them the advantage, not to mention HFA. I think Arkansas is going to hang at least 45 on Auburn. I can see Auburn winning the game, but ultimately I think Arkansas wins the game.
  14. I don't care if he's shorter than Kiefer Sutherland, he was the best rebounder in the history of college basketball. That doesn't mean squat in the NBA. I understand why people think San Antonio got the steal of the draft, but if Blair can have anything more then a solid career in the NBA, then colour me surprise. ATP Blair is a backup big, so why the hype?
  15. To be fair, Aaron Miles was the first batter ever at New Yankee Stadium, and much to many surprises he got a hit. He got that going for him.
  16. I think its because they play the Blue Jays there, so there country has to be represented as well. Minnesota has a couple of Canadians on their team, also. (Morneau, Crain)
  17. My thoughts are if Hendry pulled this off and didnt get fired, Id give up. If Hendry trades Bradley for Linebrink, I think I might make a trek up to Chicago and punch Hendry in the face. Trading a productive OF fo a crappy middle reliever is not how you make good teams. Not to mention the Cubs have more then enough arms in thesystem to do what Linebrink does, without the contract issues.
  18. I hope for Jim's sake that it's a 2 yr deal with an option for a 3rd, and not a straight up guarantee 3 years. As someone mention we have enough solid candidates to fill out the lefty spots in the bullpen without Grabow.
  19. Why is anybody surprise? This is the same franchise that fired a reigning manager of the yr.
  20. meanwhile, everyone else in the world knows that the Bears offense is 100x better than Washington's Well, the Skins do have the offensive weapons to put up good scores, they just don't execute.
  21. Yes, because there is a certain team in the NFC East that might be "Man" enough to beat the Saints.
  22. Somewhere in Washington, there are people going ](*,) because the Skins only put up 14 points against the same Lions team that has given up 48 points to the Bears.
  23. 2006 season: THAT was the season from hell. 2009 season: Frustrated as hell.
  24. I think I might take Arkansas, that should be a high scoring game regardless. I prolly would put Auburn at arond 24 (where Cal was) after the Tennessee game, but if they can beat Arkansas (all offense, no defense caliber game) in Fayetteville, then I would be more comfortable with Auburn being in the top 25. Right now...AU is still borderline top 25.
  25. I'm pissed about that to. There are not enough WS fans outside of Chicago that would justify letting the Sox have the last WGN telecast of the season. I wish yesterday's Cubs game was on CSN and today's on WGN. Oh well, at least there is football on today so that I can continue to ignore the WS broadcast.
