  1. I don't have that weird feeling about this game. No matter the reason, but if Jason Campbell can find himself with 340 yards passing game against the Lions (note: I realize Portis sucked, and the Skins could developed the running game), then Cutler should slice up the Lions defense like a surgeon. The only person that will stop Cutler from making that happening is Ron Turner. So I kind of expecting to see Cutler with a 24-32 300+ yard day with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. Statistically speaking, Forte has shown small improvements from week to week, so I see Matt improving this week to a game of say 23 carries for 90 yards and maybe a TD.
  2. Oh....I cannot wait to add Marion Hossa to this offense, man that is going to rival the Pittsburgh Penquins.
  3. Personally, I don't think it will take uch effort to acquire Hawpe. Brad is already 30 yrs old, and the Rockies have plenty of depth to cover if they should trade him. They don't have to, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do.
  4. If that the case then it sounds like Hawpe is like a more talented version of Micah Hoffpauir, a first basemen playing the OF. So what if we had to settle with Hawpe at RF for 2010, and then move him to 1b after Lee leaves?
  5. I know it is highly unlikely, but how funny would it be if Minny/GB game ended in a tie?
  6. Hawpe is no worse defensively then the lot the Cubs have trotted out there recently. Sosa (the latter years), Hollandsworth, Grieve, Burnitz, Bradley, etc, etc, etc. The only remotely close to good defensively RF the Cubs have had is now playing CF. Hawpe is pretty clearly worse than all of those guys except maybe Grieve who played roughly 4 innings in RF for us. Perhaps, but consider where he has had to play defensively? In his career he has had to play in some of the games biggest OFers. Not saying it's an excuse, but perhaps playing at a smaller OF can help hide his defensive inability.
  7. Why do people continue to pick the Sharks to actually do something after the first week in April? The same reason why people continue to pick the Cubs to win. Well that's just idiotic. Be that as it may, it's the impression I get.

I gladly take Hawpe even with his defensive liabilities (which won't be a problem especially if you keep Reed Johnson or Fuld as a the defensive replacement on next yr's team).

  10. That makes me feel better. You're going to lose games sometimes when either the goalie stands on his head or you just can't bury golden chances. But overall, you put that kind of pressure on and you'll win a lot of games. Yeah something tells me, the Hawks are prolly going to cruise past the Panthers in the next game.
  11. You forgot the green font, cause what you said isn't remotely true.
  12. To be fair, I think 2 months suspension was more then fair for Blount. Yes he threw a punch and went all WWE on the crowd, but the punishment was no more rationale that Blount's action. So I have no problem that Oregon is giving the young man a CHANCE at reinstatement.
  13. He's a four star with ESPN and Rivals and they both have OU ranked further down overall #3 and #8 ;-). well, they're wrong, scout is right  Scout sucks.
  14. Hawpe is 30 years old. If I am the Rockies this is the perfect time to sell high while you can.
  15. I agree with AO on the final four in that it should be: Phil/Washington in the east, Chicago/San Jose in the west. With the Hawks beating Philly in 7.
  16. I think the Hawks wants to cover themselves because of the jet lag that will happen when the Hawks return to the states. I suspect a week after return either backup will be gone.
  17. Yeah, I don't like Lou treating the last week of baseball as spring training games, either. This is why last week of baseball with nothing to play for sucks.
  18. Yeah, but we won't gain a draft pick when the Cards or Brewers sign Rich Harden to reasonable 2yr deal. Why is that? Just because.
  19. Maybe neither Devin A. or Iggy are developing like they hope, perhaps?
  20. Yeah, but we won't gain a draft pick when the Cards or Brewers sign Rich Harden to reasonable 2yr deal.
  21. Sadly, that is a lineup that could still beat the Pirates.
  22. Miami has used a 2nd rounder on a QB in three consecutive drafts, and signed a veteran before last season, and they still need to go out and trade for a crappy veteran journeyman? That is Bear-like. Well consider there isn't a Jay Cutler esque QB available, what else you want the Dolphins to do? I hear Dan Marino wants to give it a go one more time.
  23. I don't know if the season will be quite as "boring" as you put, but outside of watching Rose continue his ascension to the next level of stardom, I'm interested in seeing Salmons was a fluke, and see i James Johnson is going to be a player in this league. On that basis, I don't know if the season will be boring.
  24. Everyone makes out like a bandit except for the Cubs. So then the trade works.
