  1. Love it, totally nailed Izzo... funeral director
  2. If we're not going to sign Correa or Story, the biggest thing I want is to take Hosmer and/or Myers from the Padres and getting some prospects/Paddack, etc. to go with them
  3. Rosenthal reporting Cubs close on Amdrelton Simmons... would that mean they're out on Correa?
  4. Michigan would be tough because they're so long and have good shooters when they're on... Illinois is a bad matchup for Indiana because the Illinois defense is built to allow mid-range jump shots and the Hoosiers can't shoot and they try to defend Kofi 1-on-1 with TJD and Kofi eats his lunch every time
  5. I don't know why there is any discussion of what will happen if this stoppage only lasts like a week. We're losing a month minimum of the season. Horsefeathers these owners. If you don't want to pay players what they are worth, sell your team.
  6. WC qualifiers too
  7. guessing it's because he's a transcendent passer and they run their offense through him? just spitballing though...
  8. The idea of extra picks for "small market teams" is garbage. Every single one of those owners can afford to acquire whatever talent they want, they don't need extra help because they're in a smaller city.
  9. Didn't he do the same in Atlanta too? Ayo is a gamer. Lives for those challenges.
  10. Same as the last few days mostly The owners ran out of ideas a long time ago. Easy to run out when you only have 1 - do everything possible to limit how much you pay the players so you can make more money.
  11. Wisconsin always seems to have a player pushes the boundaries a bit Well that player has been Brad Davison for 5 years Johnny Davis is also quite the horsefeathers too. Taunting crowds after the game is over against at least Indiana and UM
  12. Yeah, Howard's is fine, though I could see an argument for being out the rest of the year, not just regular season. Gard could have got one and it not been egregious, but I think 0 is right for him. But dudes throwing punches and only getting a game is nuts.
  13. At this point, gotta hope that last window doesn't matter and you can leave him off then put him on the WC roster There’s only one window left. duh, I'm an idiot
  14. At this point, gotta hope that last window doesn't matter and you can leave him off then put him on the WC roster
  15. It's been like 3 different coaches, completely different teams, but like clockwork they lose all February long which always include a couple blown 2nd half leads, a Wisconsin loss, and somehow always a loss to a bad Northwestern, Rutgers or Nebraska team. Thought they were going to win last night, defensively they're very good, offense is just a mess. Xavier Johnson sure, he's fearless but, he also can't shoot, his terrible shot selection is basically a turn over. When Wisconsin packed it in why couldn't Stewart or Thompson get a nice open look? You'd sure feel better about your chances with those guys shooting than Johnson trying to create or shooting a three. Thompson's last jumper was about a foot short, which is about as good as Johnson's which were about a foot too far to the left.
  16. I thought he would be a solid player, the type that always sticks around, but is probably never more than a 3rd guard on a good team. But he has really taken off playing with such good teammates.
  17. Jaden Ivey is ridiculously good. Illinois missed a ton of shots they usually make, but it only would have made the game closer because Ivey was just so dominant.
  18. any reason to play Pulisic in the 2nd half? I'd keep him off and maybe even look to remove Weston late to keep them from injury
  19. Boy did we need that. Great service from Acosta. And McKennie is so good in the air
  20. Adams coming off is bad news. Need to get someone in for Gyasi
  21. I know Pepi is more promise than production recently, but Zardes over Pepi in a huge game? C'mon
  22. But here's the thing... Clemens and Bonds might have been gigantic horsefeathers, but they didn't even break any rules by using HGH (no MLB rule against it 'til 2011) or steroids (no rule against them til 2005) and neither one tested positive for anything at any point while playing. Even if you want to lop off their stats from 2005 til the end of their careers, Bonds still hit over 700 HRs with a BA over .300 and Clemens had well over 300 wins and 4000 Ks. Gaylord Perry was an admitted cheater. Amphetamine use was everywhere during the 60s and 70s. Fergie Jenkins was once banned from baseball (overturned later) because of cocaine possession. Nobody cared about people using PEDs until they decided they did. The BBWAA is a joke.
  23. as an Illini fan, I expected Ayo to be a solid pro... but what he's doing this year is well-beyond what I ever expected from him. What a great situation he landed in. Getting to work with Lavine and DeRozan every day has got to be so great for him. And learning NBA defense from Caruso and Ball sure doesn't hurt either
  24. I think I'd be ok with that mostly because it seems like they have a lot of similar-quality options at GM, so let's pick a good one and then zero in on a coach
