Nothing like waking up on a Sunday morning, making a cup of coffee, and reading 12 pages of bitter OSU coverage in the Columbus Dispatch. The Spin: The loss was good for the maturation of Pryor, and now PSU can go be the Big 10 team that's embarrassed in the NC game instead of OSU.

I get what Meph is saying. He's arguing something different than everyone else is. He's not saying losses are unimportant in determining who should play in conference championship games or where teams rank in the BCS standings. He's just saying that just because Boise St. is 8-0 and Florida is 7-1, that doesn't make Boise St. BETTER. If Florida played Ole Miss at home 9 more times they'd probably win all 9. Losing by 1 point to Ole Miss doesn't make Florida a worse team than if they had won. Less deserving, yes, but not worse.

I was living in State College when PSU won the NC in 1986....now THAT was madness. Luckily my dad was awesome and took the 11 year old me downtown where people were climbing the lamp posts at College and Allen St. :shock:

yeah there was one where our left end completely blew past their left guard and he was grabbed, it was on the outside of the line, well away from any other linemen. after they didn't call that one i assumed that there just wouldn't be any holding calls at all. Maybin got held pretty much every passing play

Yeah but if Penn St wins, and they finish without a loss, they probably make it to the NC game. And they probably get blown out as well. I'd love to see Texas or Florida go up against an actual defense this year Texas no...Florida has. By the end of the season they would have played: #4 Defense #7 Defense #8 Defense #9 Defense #15 Defense #16 Defense #22 Defense And none of those are LSU. were those the #'s at the time, or now?

this PSU/OSU game will come down to who makes better adjustments at halftime. So far this season, PSU has done that better, often blowing open close games in the second half, where OSU has been in more nail biters than they should

It isn't as bad as it was last year. The middle teams have improved. It's not in the class of the Big XII or SEC, but the difference is no longer night and day. The big problem with their schedules is the lack of a big championship game. Although you can't make that argument about Ohio State since they "played" USC. if the Big 10 could get a 12th team, they would probably move to a championship game. But that brings me to my beef with the complete and utter lack of consistency from conference to conference.

Tell me about it, this sucks. Who outside of Michigan would rather watch Michigan/Michigan State? unfortunately if you live in big ten country, abc/espn think you don't care about any other conference. My problem is that if you live outside the Big Ten region you get Texas/Oklahoma State on ABC and the Michigan/MSU game on ESPN2. So why can't they give us Mich/MSU on ABC and Texas/OSU on ESPN2. I have Mich/MSU on ABC and ESPN2 is blacked out. Awesome

FSN Ohio is either cheap or lazy or both. The OU/KSU game is on, but not on their HD feed. Clearly the game is being broadcast in HD (as the ESPN highlights are all hi-def), so what gives, FSN?
