    So the Blue Jays game I went to yesterday was just a random "I happen to be in Toronto so why not see a game" decision. Once I got there, I learned that they were doing a massive pre-game ceremony honoring the 92/93 WS championship teams. Pretty cool. There was a statue unveiling of Joe Carter outside the stadium, about 25 members of those teams (Carter, Olerud, Molitor, Leiter, White, Moldanado, etc.) in an on-field ceremony, etc. Lucked out on that one.

    Being the #1 spender guarantees nothing. That said, only 2 of the last 15 champs were out of the top 10 in spending. So NOT spending pretty much guarantees NOT winning, while big time spending only gets you a seat at the table
