  1. I'll take the Vikings.
  2. For anyone who cares Are there anymore Izturises in baseball or that it? That Maddux for Cesar Izturis trade still irrationally angers me.
  3. He apparently said he expects to be fired, which makes me wonder if he isn't Costanza-ing this to get a job at Fox Sports or some s---.
  4. Petition to make Heyward's official nickname "Joey WAR Hands" Montero must now legally change his name.
  5. How has no one suggested David doing it? He is a robot. Working with technology and automating messages should be easy.
  6. I love this damn team.
  7. Yeah, same. This is definitely a 2012 offseason type signing. Though his past success makes it a nice flier.
  8. The Angels hired Brendan Harris as a scout, meaning he retired. Always liked him, dating back to when he was a prospect with us. I remember I was on vacation in upstate NY when the Normar trade happened and there was a front cover story on Harris being in the trade because he was a local kid. Memories.
  9. Hopefully your wrong and it's Coghlan + prospects to the Rays for McGee and we will have a 4-headed monster of an OF with Schwarbs-Heyward-Fowler-Soler Expand the deal Soler + Coghlan + prospects for Odorizzi, Jennings, and McGee. Sign Fowler and you have lots of versatility with 3 guys who can play CF or corner OF including a switch hitter. Remind me why we want Desmond Jennings?
  10. Ronald Torreyes traded to the Yankees, for anyone keeping tabs on former Cubs prospects/fallout from the Sean Marshall trade.
  11. http://www.bleachernation.com/2016/01/11/lukewarm-stove-cubs-and-rays-upton-fowler-rodney-chen-lazarito-more/ Cubs and Rays have still been talking trades. Would still love to see us add McGee and one of their starters.
  12. Yeah, I like this deal a lot for the Jays. And Storen gets out of DC finally. Good for both of them. Meanwhile the Nats now get a full season of Papelbon and Harper together.

  14. I would like that very much, though not sure how feasible it is. Rays are believed to like Villanueva and Vogelbach, though not sure exactly how much. Maybe those two, Coghlan and someone like Blackburn/Sands/Steele/Williams?
  15. Yo, eff the Dodgers. Thought I guess we could take Wood off their hands.
  16. The Mariners signed former Cub greats Blake Parker and Casey Coleman.
  17. That's what the buzz is now among the beat writers and national guys. They have the pieces to make it happen and also could feel they have to given the additions to the Giants and Dbacks/losing out on Grienke and Price.
  18. Seriously. Sox and Dodgers come out pretty well in this trade. Reds deal their biggest non-abusive closer trade piece and the return for them is pretty meh.
  19. Former Cubs minor leaguer Lincoln Holdzkom was killed in a car accident. We acquired him in the infamous Todd Wellemeyer trade with the Marlins. He was 33 and pitching in New Zealand. Sad news.
  20. Pretty thrilled no one took Corey Black. I think he could be a decent pen arm next year.
  21. Definitely Atlanta, though the Phillies got quite a nice haul for Giles.
  22. And Mark Reynolds signs with the Rockies, so expect him to hit 50 homers next year (and strike out in every other at bat).
  23. Seems kinda silly to deal Bethancourt because he is "blocked" by two mediocre players. Also, what is that now, like 32 trades between the Braves and Padres in the past year?
  24. Indians are talking to Reds about Frazier. And Astros are talking to Phillies about Giles.
