  1. We hit 900 home runs this year and :flythew:
  2. Man, if Wood comes back, that's a great pen. And the SP depth we were complaining about? Iowa's rotation would be Butler, Mills, Zastrzyny, Kelly, and Ryan Williams, followed by Aaron Brooks, Jordan Pries, Pierce Johnson, Williams Perez, Dylan Floro, Jake Buchanan, and possibly Tseng. Pen depth is deep too. Much better set up now.
  3. Also, David Rollins, again, has been DFAd.
  4. Yeah I'm kinda surprised they gave up on Dewees already, though he is at least a year away and I thought I read he doesn't have much of an arm. Mills seems like ideal AAA-Majors rotation depth. He still has two options as well. So now the Iowa rotation is, what, Butler, Mills, Ryan Williams, Brooks, Kelly, Williams Perez, Pierce Johnson, etc? Not bad considering where it was a month ago.
  5. I legit forgot about this guy. Was gonna be an interesting lefty addition to the pen and then we cut him and he never pitched in 2016.
  6. One (?) day after Fangraphs did a "Don't give up on Byung Ho Park" piece. And they did so to make room for Matt Belisle........
  7. Indians sign Boone Logan. Looks like a one year deal plus an option. They'll have a pretty good pen again.
  8. Didn't Brayan Pena request his release in order to join the military or did I make that up? We have Corporan, Solis, Davis and soon Caratini in AAA as catchers. This is a good website for our depth chart: http://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-chicago-cubs/ Our MI and 1B depth in the upper minors could use help, so someone like Ackley, Coghlan or Kelly Johnson would be good on a minor league deal. Our relief corps is pretty deep. In addition to the guys in the majors, also have Rosario, Black, Leatherstich, Acevedo, Concepcion, Pena, Rollins, Parra and Rosscup, in addition to newbies Conor Mullee (good in AAA last year for the Yanks), Fernando Rodriguez (who has been a decent middle reliever the past couple years), Daniel Corcino, Maikel Cleto, and others. The SP depth has been discussed and definitely improved the past few days with Kelly and Butler.
  9. Is this real? [tweet]https://twitter.com/MLBRosterMoves/status/826843263151661056[/tweet]
  10. It's insane to think players report in just a couple weeks. World Series doesn't even feel like that long ago. :flythew:
  11. Pena signs the same day the Reds sign Arroyo. They were once traded for each other. #Illuminati
  12. I got mine in November. The price is steep, but there's really no other affordable trophy reproductions out there. The base is cheap plastic with thin cardboard panels glued on. . . . .it will age poorly. But, it's a friggin WS trophy and it's awesome. I have it on a table in my office and it gets lots of comments. Yeah I got the same thing from my parents for Christmas. It's still pretty darned cool. I would not myself spend that money on it though, haha.
  13. Outfielder and former first round pick Richie Shaffer has now been DFAd/waived for the 5th time this offseason, each time by a different organization (Rays, then Mariners, then Phillies, then Reds, now Indians). Is there some kind of record?
  14. The Rockies just DFAd Eddie Butler. Seems odd. I'd imagine there's a lot of interest.
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] MLB Pipeline releasing their Top 100 tomorrow and Eloy and Happ are among the prospects they're gonna have live-tweeting it.
  16. Greg Holland to the Rockies. They'll be interesting this year.
  17. I'd love to get Overton. Would be what we need, solid lefty/starter depth in AAA. Rather him than Caleb Smith. I'm sure we wouldn't miss Rollins or the guy we got from TB last week.
  18. Didn't see this coming. Forsythe is a good player but this is a great deal for the Rays. Have to wonder if they move another starter and if we're in on it.
  19. I like this a lot. He has been good when healthy and is a good 6th starter. If he is hurt and barely pitches, we don't lose much.
  20. Our dear former friend and bat flip artist Luis Valbuena is going to the Angels on a 2 year deal.

  22. Is it just me or is this trade kinda bad for the Marlins?
