So the Rockies are planning on Desmond being 1B, when he is a better defender than Gonzalez. Ok........ Also, remember when they gave Parra a three year deal last year? You'd have to think another trade is coming somewhere.
I love the idea of Davis in the pen. I'm just hesitant to give up a valuable trade chip for one year of a reliever. Maybe we can sell them on Clifton's good year?
In LOLMets fashion, after bidding against themselves and giving up Dilson Herrera at the deadline, they're trying to find someone to take Jay Bruce off their hands now.
Random trade thoughts. Who says no? Cubs get: Foltynewicz, Shae Simmons Braves get: Candelario, Tseng, DJ Wilson Then: Cubs get: Kelvin Herrera Royals get: Soler, Clifton, P. Johnson
Wilson is a fine bullpen arm but I wouldn't go out of the way to acquire him, and no I wouldn't trade Soler for him. He also has reverse splits for his career, tougher on righties.
We'll see. I'm sure if an opportunity came up to make a big move to improve short and long term of team they will make it. Yeah, standard case of "We'll see what happens." The Winter Meetings haven't even started yet. If there's a move for a starting pitcher they can make, I'm sure they'd do it. But obviously there aren't many holes to fill that can't be done from within.
Apparently there are rumblings the Pirates have liked offers they've received for McCutchen and a trade seems likelier now. My Pirates-fan friends are pissed.
Cubs are apparently interested in Daniel Hudson as a middle reliever, according to the Tribune. I like the idea, when I think of 2011 Daniel Hudson, not 2016 Daniel Hudson who went through a stretch of giving up 33 hits in just 9 innings. This year's Trevor Cahill?
