  2. MAKE ALL THE TRADES [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. Upton was going to opt out after the season so better than nothing but dang. Sounds like it's just Long and a PTBNL or cash.
  4. [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. I think has been said before but Joey Gallo is having a weird season. He has 36 home runs and an .893 OPS, but with a .203 batting average and a .227 BABIP. He has 73 hits on the year and only 20 of those are singles. Over a full season, he would have 51 homers with 98 RBI. In the month of August, he has a 1.194 OPS with a .179 BABIP. Only five of his hits were not home runs. What this basically boils down to is he is the new Adam Dunn.
  6. Wei-Yin Chen and Mike Leake each got $80 million. Arrieta is easily getting $100. Probably 150 from a team with cash that's desperate for pitching (Rangers, Giants, Yankees, heck even the Astros).
  7. [tweet] [/tweet] And all we got was a bag of Ian Stewart.
  8. I definitely think Maples gets called up. Tseng should be added to the 40-man but they could shut him down due to innings limit. Part of my wants Taylor Davis and Andreoli to get called up for depth/make their MLB debuts but that isn't likely without injuries.
  9. will anyone be at any of the games this weekend?
  10. Wasn't there a joke on the cubs.com board about Augie Ojeda being like his favorite because he seemed to play more than he should? Ojeda and Baylor was Dusty and Macias/Neifi before Dusty/Macias/Neifi was a thing. I could also be totally making this up.
  11. Oh good you start this thread and he goes 0-for-5.
  12. I also enjoy that stuff. And there's plenty of former Cubs abroad: KBO: Jae Kuk Ryu, Brooks Raley, Jake Brigham, Donn Roach, Carlos Villanueva (non-Cubs: Jeff Manship, Alexi Ogando, Anthony Ranaudo) Japan: Casey McGahee, Kosuke Fukudome (yep), Marcus Mateo, Spencer Patton, Jay Jackson, Kyuji Fujikawa, Rafael Dolis, Phil Coke, Tsuyoshi Wada, Stephen Fife. Italy: Ronny Cedeno (also Mark Teahan)
  13. Staggeringly small sample size alert, but 2017 pick Ben Hecht, since the promotion to Eugene, has recorded every out via K.
  14. Damn, Fowler, Kaprelian and Mateo for Gray. That's a nice haul for Oakland. At the same time, Yanks held onto Frazier, Gleybar, Sheffield and others.
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] And Jeffries back to Milwaukee for like the third time.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] Mejia was dealt for Montero with Godley.
  17. Now where's Sosa's ring?
  18. Looks like Astros are getting Liriano and the Nats are trying to land Kintzler from the Twins.
  19. Oh sure but let's not welcome back Sammy Sosa.
  20. Here comes Rucker. Let's see how much this list changes in 4 hours. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=chc
  21. Kinda bummed to have to deal Paredes here but no doubt Wilson is a good get this year and next. Insurance at closer too if we don't bring back Davis.
  22. I just noticed Paul Blackburn has pitched 32 innings for the A's this year while doing a great Eddie Butler impression (2.25 ERA but with 3.4 k/9 and a 1.20 K/BB)
  23. And Soler falls further down the depth chart
  24. And Howie Kendrick to the Nats. None of these trades make sense for the acquiring teams. Is this bizarro world?
  25. The Rays just traded a Top 100 prospect for a lefty reliever that isn't Justin Wilson.
