  1. Same but also those guys are now our starting IF and OF so
  2. I remember Brett at BN had a nice writeup on Amaya a year or two ago and I've kept an eye on him since. Glad to see his raking. What are the thoughts on Ademan now? He's struggling at the plate but still has loads of potential and is young for the level, right?
  3. Honestly, I'll consider this whole draft a win as long as we don't pick him. The Cubs don't need the bad publicity, but I wonder on a more societal level whether he should forever be barred based on a teenage mistake (his claims of innocence not withstanding). The move toward felons voting is picking up steam, and I think that's probably consistent with where our society is going. The Obama Administration was very committed to the idea of keeping the official records of teen offenders clean as not to hamper them later on (see Nikolas Cruz). I just wonder if Luke Hemlich is different because he might make millions of dollars. I'm in favor of second chances and the changes in the criminal justice system. But this is a high school kid molesting a child relative. Not the same thing as getting caught smoking a joint. I will be very upset if we take him.
  4. I like Archer. I'm still made we traded him. At the same time, there are better fits vs. what we'd have to give up. (On the other hand, the Rays traded Colome for much less than expected so who knows)
  5. All in favor of banning our creator?
  6. Projectable but super raw and incredibly overdrafted. We're eyeing someone later aren't we?
  7. I like the Hoerner pick. Some upside and presumable saves some money for later picks. He was a guy I was hoping for if some other things didn't fall into place.
  8. Is Eddie Butler just dead? I know it's not like he's integral to the team but he had good outings earlier and I'd rather see him get another shot before Luke Farrell. Shouldn't he be back from the DL?
  9. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2018/05/29/mlb-trade-deadline-manny-machado-josh-donaldson-cole-hamels-rumors/650523002/ Lol Nightengale things we acquire Archer for a package "headlined" by Caratini. We make that deal yesterday if it were possible. He also thinks we trade for Tyson Ross.
  10. Hanley Ramirez DFA'd. [tweet]https://twitter.com/benyankee/status/1000046868833947648[/tweet]
  11. [tweet] [/tweet] Well that's unexpected.
  12. Longtime Cubs minor leaguer John Andreoli made his MLB debut last night for the Mariners and got his first career hit. Happy for him.
  13. Apparently we gave son of Farrell a trip back to Iowa and promoted someone named Cory Mazzoni.
  14. Remember how their young pitchers are better than our young hitters?
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] He got a WS ring out of it in 2016 didn't he
  16. [tweet] [/tweet]That now makes it: 7 IP 9 BB 6 K 21.86 ERA Grimm went the way of Travis Wood.
  17. I was gonna say "Luke Farrell of all people?" but Mills and Tseng haven't looked great in Iowa so far and they want a longman in the pen and probably wanna see what they have in son of John (otherwise just call up Zastrysny).
  18. Something in the air in Baltimore? Chris Tillman was never an ace, but he put up decent numbers for a few years and now it seems like he's dead. Since the beginning of last season, he's 1-10 with an 8.28 ERA. In 106.1 IP, he's allowed 147 hits, walked 61, struck out just 66, and has allowed 26 HR. Or are the O's just spending money on guys who lost their velocity and can't locate pitches at all?
  19. Let's check in on Justin Grimm. The findings are.....grim. 6.2 IP 7 BB 5 K 18.90 ERA
  20. Lol, he fell all the way to the Indy leagues. Hey jersey, maybe make your way up to Montclair soon and boo him [tweet] [/tweet]
