  1. 2 words: Nick Punto. Oh dear God. I'd prefer an A pitcher with little upside.
  2. Sounds optimistic but I don't think we have much to worry about. I hope
  3. alas, Joe Carter is no longer with us maybe the cubs can make it to the playoffs and get dick stockton to broadcast another game. that would definitely be interesting. After hearing the disaster that was him calling the NLDS, yes, that would be a riot.
  4. Devils beat the Penguins! *celebrates*
  5. I can't wait for when a broadcaster tries pronouncing his last name and slips up on air.
  6. Just beat me to it. I'll post Rotoworld's take:
  7. Demp had a 9.82 ERA in September. Take out the horrendous outings he had that month, and his ERA is about 3.50.
  8. Yes, those THREE blown saves he had last year were horrible. Especially in comparison to his TWENTY EIGHT converted saves. Dempster isn't that bad. How many of those 28 did he come in with a 2 or more run lead and then give up a run (or two)? He wasn't all that terrible. Take out a few atrocious outings and his ERA is much lower
  9. I'd have no problem with 4 years and about 50 million, 5 years only if we have to.
  10. Crabtree? Dude has about 120 catchs this season.
  11. Infante actually has not been all that terrible away from Comerica. I think he may be hindered from playing there. Maybe the move to the NL will help. Also, what is his range factor at SS, 2B, and CF?
  12. Furcal? Hendry wanted him or Pierre and wound up with one. Last season he said he would get Soriano and he did. If he wants Fukudome just as bad, I can only hope he would be able to get it done.
  13. Pedroia wins in the AL
  14. Not a huge fan of this deal right now, but I wanna try and hold my judgement to see how things pan out. Infante was playing in a pitcher's park, and he has potential and is still young. Also, this hopefully clears the way toward signing Fukudome. This may end up being a bad trade, but I want to see the immediate consequences first. And this isn't Hendry's worst trade.
  15. They seem to think Infante would be decent if used correctly. I've heard it before with other players. And I love that they called bad stats Neifi-esque as well.
  16. He swiped a few bags in Japan, but I don't know if he's much of a base stealer.
  17. Is that English? He just missed a "to" in there! Jeez! where exactly can a "to" be placed in there to make it a decent sentence? ;) I just read this series of posts and cracked up more than I should have.
  18. Ok, this is bothering me for some reason. I see, Iwamura, Crawford, Kazmir and Pena. Who's the other guy? James Shields Ah, that's what my guess was.
  19. Ha-ha; thanks for the laugh. (Insert missing ROFL smiley here.) No Problem! But I didn't say the ONLY problem. Their pen is at the bottom of their problems. It can all be done in house no moves need to be made except re-signing Wood. Really? Other than Marmol and Wood, who do you trust? Maybe Howry. Dumpster is better as a starter just to get him out of the closer role. Neal cotts excites you? Lou obviously hates Scott Eyre. Howry Marmol Wood--if they resign him Wuertz Thats 3 currently, and possibly 4 very very solid relievers. Who is the closer? Is Marmol ready? Wood? And I am not sold on Wuertz. I worried about the pen last year and many times I wasn't disappointed. Not sold on Wuertz? How's 3 straight seasons of sub-4.00 ERA sound? The guy said "maybe Howry", what more do you need to know? Howry was lights out last year, how can somebody say, "maybe Howry" Yes, I said Maybe Howry. I think Howry is a good releiver, but he has 7 losses last year, 38 for his career. That is the only knock I see on him. I don't understand how his 12 losses in 2 years as a Cub makes him LIGHTS OUT. W-L is a horrible, horrible way to evaluate a pitcher.
