  1. it blows away the $11.75M or whatever that Hoffman makes (currently the highest for a reliever) I agree 15m is too much for a closer. But let's not compare Mo and Hoffman. I know Everyone is going to jump all over me on this one, so........ENJOY. They are both very good. You're just biased. Mo may be better, but not by a very large margin.
  2. He was as equally deserving as Beckett.
  3. I'd like Crawford, but for both Marmol AND Hill. Unless we are getting someone else in the deal or Jim has another trade lined up for someone good to replace one of the two.
  4. He's gonna take that. It's a record contract for a RP (or close to it) and he never wanted to leave the Yanks anyway. That is a lot of money for a RP, but if any team is gonna do that, of course it's the Yankees.
  5. Interesting, but without sources, I ain't believing it.
  6. I think that's the way Hendry is going to go. A lot of money right there, but I like the sound of that outfield.
  7. 2 words: Nick Punto. Oh dear God. I'd prefer an A pitcher with little upside.
  8. Sounds optimistic but I don't think we have much to worry about. I hope
  9. alas, Joe Carter is no longer with us maybe the cubs can make it to the playoffs and get dick stockton to broadcast another game. that would definitely be interesting. After hearing the disaster that was him calling the NLDS, yes, that would be a riot.
  10. Devils beat the Penguins! *celebrates*
  11. I can't wait for when a broadcaster tries pronouncing his last name and slips up on air.
  12. Just beat me to it. I'll post Rotoworld's take:
  13. Demp had a 9.82 ERA in September. Take out the horrendous outings he had that month, and his ERA is about 3.50.
  14. Yes, those THREE blown saves he had last year were horrible. Especially in comparison to his TWENTY EIGHT converted saves. Dempster isn't that bad. How many of those 28 did he come in with a 2 or more run lead and then give up a run (or two)? He wasn't all that terrible. Take out a few atrocious outings and his ERA is much lower
  15. I'd have no problem with 4 years and about 50 million, 5 years only if we have to.
  16. Crabtree? Dude has about 120 catchs this season.
  17. Infante actually has not been all that terrible away from Comerica. I think he may be hindered from playing there. Maybe the move to the NL will help. Also, what is his range factor at SS, 2B, and CF?
  18. Furcal? Hendry wanted him or Pierre and wound up with one. Last season he said he would get Soriano and he did. If he wants Fukudome just as bad, I can only hope he would be able to get it done.
  19. Pedroia wins in the AL
