    Ha-ha; thanks for the laugh. (Insert missing ROFL smiley here.) No Problem! But I didn't say the ONLY problem. Their pen is at the bottom of their problems. It can all be done in house no moves need to be made except re-signing Wood. Really? Other than Marmol and Wood, who do you trust? Maybe Howry. Dumpster is better as a starter just to get him out of the closer role. Neal cotts excites you? Lou obviously hates Scott Eyre. Wuertz

    I'm hearing they may stick with in house options like Betemit and Phillips at third. Of course, they said that about Bubba Crosby in CF a couple years ago, but then went out and signed Damon, so who knows.

    So some of my Phillie fan friends are upset at this trade beacuse they gave up "Rowand's replacement (Bourn) and their third baseman of the future (Costanzo) for a guy who will never recover from being owned by Puljols (Lidge)".

    I'm under the impression that signing Matsui has more to do with improving the odds of signing Fukudome, and I'm actually fine with that. He wouldn't be a waste of salary. He would be a nice complement to Theriot at SS from the left side of the plate. Also, if the Cubs end up with an outfield that consists of Jones, Pie and Fukudome, DeRosa provides a bat from the right side in RF on the occasion when the Cubs want to load up with RH bats against a LHP. Is Soriano no longer a part of the OF?

    He's waiting until he can tell the Red sox who they are and then allow other teams to sign them before he releases the names.

    Not a huge fan of this. He's a defensive upgrade for sure. But how is he any better offensively than Riot or DeRosa?

    If true, I'd be really really excited. However, I doubt we'd hear anything like that right away. I'm not even sure if he's filed for FA yet.

    As much as I want A-Rod, I don't see it as much of a possibility anymore. We have a lot of committed money and Hendry obviously has no interest in getting him. Also, the pending sale is tying us down.

    I don't know about Ibanez. He's getting older and his defense and declining. He's been consistant year-year offensively, but his first half numbers last year were pretty pedestrian.

    Well, he has power, speed, walks a bit and is a good fielder. However, he's getting up there in age and usually struggles to hit .250.

    Well, the market has become pretty bloated. Even though he's in a pitcher's park and will probably put up above average numbers again, I still don't see him being worth $10 mil.

    I am too. Granted, I expect his power numbers to dip once he gets here, but he'll make up for it in other areas, and we need a good corner outfielder to compliment Soriano. If not him, then there is little out on the market.
