  1. http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2013/9/16/4734702/bears-vs-vikings-notes-scribbles-and-things-jotted-down Every time that play happens there's only one guy on the field who gets it.
  2. The Banquet Beer. I like it.
  3. GD I hate primetime games, and this one is especially bad. Not only is there the Breaking Bad conflict, but my wife is heading out of town very early Monday morning so I'm flying solo with the little ones starting with the Monday drop offs. That also means we are essentially forced to watch BB late Sunday night because there's no way I'm lasting several days with that on my DVR and all the talk on the internet. yesterday was amazing. Perfect weather, brought my TV onto the deck and spend the entire day prepping my pulled pork. Need more 1pm football please.
  4. Its really just Peppers, Tillman and Briggs that are old though, right? And Briggs and Tillman played fine from what I saw. Briggs was a non factor and Tillman is great as long as he can get back on field after his early injuries every game. Peppers is on vacation and there is no other talent showing up. Briggs tied for the team lead in tackles, had a TFL and 3 deflections. He was not a non-factor. he also had a QB hit. He also got run over by a QB. And tackle totals aren't particularly meaningful.

  6. Jay needs to start scoring a lot earlier because that old D is on its last leg
  7. Whoever is doing csn sports central just repeatedly said romos when reading Ramos and said Kane and The Toews accidentally. She no talk goodly.
  8. I don't understand the notion of "allegations that hostesses had sex with recruits." That's what they do. That would be like alleging that a football fan drank beer.
  9. No matter the outlet, his future employment depends on him staying relevant and in the news. I don't give a crap if Jay Cutler called him after he retired, but to expect Urlacher to not be talking about stuff that happened while he played is asinine.
  10. Kyle is the decider of these things?
  11. I'm sure you didn't, but at first read I was thinking of it being some mindless dope like Darren Rovell just live tweeting [expletive] people don't want live tweeted.
  12. Well, brandon kind of makes it sound like he was mindlessly tweeting about it, but there's a reason.
  13. That's kind of a ridiculous assumption. His next employer doesn't get to draft him.
  14. Yeah, they play split squads and also other teams. The games are very informal - one year, to work on his base stealing, Felix Pie pinch ran for any Cub who got to first with second base empty. Split squads might be tough for a team with 2 outfielders.
  15. . Synonym only means it has a similar meaning.
  16. What does the Instructional League do? I remember coaches pitched underhand to their own team when I was in them and you had a little pitcher next to him which was basically where the ball ended up to make everybody stop. But I assume this is different. Do they play other teams?
  17. I would not be surprised if he had aspirations to play in LA or NY. Whole new crop of females.
  18. Yeah, not sure why the comparison is Dallas Green era.
  19. Why is he STILL talking? Because Fox pays him money to. Seriously, what kind of question is that?
  20. Let's say Kane decided he wanted to move on. Where would he have the chance to a) win the cup basically every season, b) play in a city as good as Chicago and c) play in a system that maximizes his talent? I'm not saying there isn't one but that's what he'd be leaving if he took more money. Of course if they win the cup this year he may just want to get paid and not care about anything else A Buffalo native and Sabres fan I know is convinced that Kane will end his career playing there. Whether that is 10 years from now or 2, is up for debate. The way things stand now, these guys have been underpaid. I'm guessing they expect to be paid like top 5-10 guys in the league. They see how Pittsburgh fit in Crosby and Malkin. They see that other guys are getting paid. They've won 2 Cups and it is entirely reasonable for them to play hardball in negotiations. They are already Chicago legends. There's little to be gained by playing nice.
  21. Sure, I was just responding to the article's mention of "Chicago-influenced beers". It's silly. Are you saying Goose Island is not a Chicago influenced beer?
  22. ...Sullivan's injury was not to the head That's my point, if it would've been at the head Suh would've likely been suspended. Short-term leg injuries are more damaging on a career than head injuries. You ask most players and they rather get hit in the head than at the knees. There's a double standard b/c the NFL doesn't like the negative attention towards the head. You can't expect a detroit fan to comprehend such a point.
  23. Maybe meaningless, but going along with a weird quote the other day from Peppers I don't like to see this stuff. Well, its not like this is pro wrestling. Peppers isnt going to hit Trestman with a chair in a shocking heel turn because he doesnt like him. I'm not concerned about him beating up Trestman, but rather his relationship with the DC. Peppers was a no show in game 1. That happens from time to time but I'd hope he could overcome that.
  24. Alright, calm down. It is a Chicago beer brand. It's readily available throughout NY and NJ and for that I am thankful, because it is good and I enjoy it. There are better choices that are actually still made in Chicago. It is unrealistic to expect them to choose to partner with the most purely Chicago microbrew, whatever the hell you decide that is. It is a business, and they need to maximize revenue.
  25. Maybe meaningless, but going along with a weird quote the other day from Peppers I don't like to see this stuff. Apparently he was sick. What was it he said the other day about his role in the defense? It seemed similar to Marshall's comments.
