  1. You’re right, letting the time run out was the right choice. lets move on
  2. He could have moved on last offseason. He chose not to
  3. I’m not a fan of the “but maybe he wasn’t allowed to make the decision he wanted to make” built in excuses that are given to every bears gm and head coach. Poles is the gm. He hired Eberflus. He chose to tank. He lost on purpose and then kept the head coach and now it’s blowing up in his face. This is his team and his coach. Full stop
  4. Poles could have made a change and chose not to.
  5. It’s quite simple you have 30 seconds to save your season/job. You have a timeout. You call a TO and have 2 plays ready and let it rip. You don’t end that game with TO in your pocket.
  6. Yes, much more awful than having the clock run out
  7. It very much is a strategy employed by better offensive teams. The difference is their skill players know how to achieve it. Williams had a bad throw and Swift didn’t try
  8. Not when you give points up every single drive
  9. Too be fair their only chance to stop the lions or score is probably forcing a punt return and fumble
  10. It’s an extremely bears fan thing to speculate about. It was never really on the table as a decision they’d make internally. If the offense played well enough to make him a candidate, they’d win enough games to keep Eberflus around.
  11. We can put those Thomas Brown as head coach stories to bed
  12. Seems like an optionality thing for Vikings, and an opportunity for the coach to cement his reputation as a QB whisperer. If he can be a playoff team with Darnold, do they negotiate a new contract? Assuming Darnold goes to highest bidder in free agency, Jones has the inside track to be the guy that competes with McCarthy.
  13. Jones signs with Vikings
  14. I meant expensive players. Tauchman made sense as PCA insurance last season. If Bellinger left it would make sense to renew that insurance policy this year. Bellinger came back so it makes sense to not pay for that policy this season
  15. They didn’t release Tauchman. They chose not to tender him a contract. And there’s nothing wrong with that, especially when your OF is already filled with expensive not great players.
  16. Not many worse things than a gaggle of bros hitting up the steakhouse after a round of golf: SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Former NHL player and TNT hockey analyst Paul Bissonnette was assaulted by several men during an altercation at a Scottsdale steakhouse Sunday night. Bissonnette posted a video on X on Monday describing the incident, saying he tried to intervene when one member of the group got in the manager’s face and started grabbing him after his friend was asked to leave. “You could tell by his face he (the manager) was a little shocked and surprised and stunned,” Bissonnette said. “It’s a family restaurant and there wasn’t anyone there who could maybe go help him out, so I went over, grabbed the guy and said, ‘Sir, if you’re going to assault and harass the staff, we’re going to have problems.’” Bissonnette said members of the group started throwing punches in a fight that started in the restaurant and spilled into the parking lot and to a nearby store. Bissonnette said he was kicked in the head three times and took several punches while landing several blows of his own against seven men. Scottsdale police arrested six men who are accused of assault and disorderly conduct.
  17. This is a weird post to make after yesterdays effort, when he was slinging it all over the place
  18. I cannot imagine a scenario where a new head coach retains the old interim OC and anybody is remotely happy.
  19. After two straight double digit losses the Bears have lost their first two division games by a combined 4 points, covering a surprisingly low spread in both games. Now they are 10.5 point dogs and +410 to win on national TV, which I would call their nemesis if not for the fact that other NFL teams are already the nemesis of every Eberflus coached team regardless of time, day or network the game is on.
