  1. What an awful challenge. Eberflus is so bad at head coaching.
  2. They weren’t as important positions back then.
  3. Yeah. When talking ABOUT people it’s completely different and you basically use the easiest, most clarifying and/or most fun version of the name to say. When I see Shota all I can think to myself is:
  4. Yes, its generally thought of as rude by human beings in America to call somebody by their last name only when you aren’t friends. if you are introduced to somebody named Tom Smith and then said “smith, what are you up to” they’d look at you sideways. It’s not weird, it’s basic human interaction. it’s a condescending tone a boss or coach would take with an underling. And really poor form with an elder.
  5. Doesn’t the very existence of barstool, and every other comedian complaining about not being able to do the same old comedy they used to do to great profit nullify the theory that that humor wouldn’t fly today?
  6. Artyom Levshunov won’t be using the upcoming prospect showcase as a springboard into the Blackhawks’ NHLtraining camp as other top rookies have in the past. The Blackhawks announced Wednesday that Levshunov will miss the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase this weekend after suffering a recent right foot injury. The injury occurred when Levshunov was struck in the foot by a puck in a recent training session. Levshunov’s return timetable was not announced
  7. Leave Tom alone
  8. If there’s front office friction and scouting budgets are being slashed then I’m guessing somebody in the scouting department who is used to working for a competent organization could be getting frustrated and is involved in the friction. somebody with a good resume who could be in a position to be picky about his employment would make sense. Some lower level schmoe might not have the same freedom
  9. Internal friction in front office doesn’t read like an ownership thing, it sounds like a president/gm/asst GM/scouting/development thing. Hoyer returning sounds like whoever is on other end of feud is leaving. My guess is Hawkins or Kantrovitz. Obviously it’s a terribly run organization and a lot of these people have to see it, especially coming from organizations that aren’t as sloppy as Hoyers cubs have been.
  10. Yeah. The continuous “who is overreacting” responses defending the general ninnyness are quite rich there were dozens of apoplectic responses
  11. Levis did not turn out to be a competent QB and for that I am grateful. Defense and special teams can win you some games and if your very luck. A single championship. But that stuff never lasts and we all know by now you need great QB play for sustained success. Houston is favored to win by a touchdown in this one and with a QB that can do things you can be certain a lot of people will be expecting them to do that with relative ease. Eberflus is gonna have to pull one out of his hat this week. The offense should be better after getting the first one in the books. I wouldn’t expect a huge explosion but a couple touchdowns would be nice. You’re all a bunch of huge babies for the way you overreacted to a rookie QBs first game. also Velus Jones needs to be replaced
  12. I think she just wanted to brag about having sex
  13. Ain’t nothin finer than an upset loss in south bend
  14. Draftkings wouldn’t let me parlay iowa and the under. thank you draft kings
  15. It’s been a depressing week in the hockey world but it’s September now and hockey hath returned. Youth teams are playing games, NHL teams are announcing their prospect showcase rosters. Training camps are on the horizon. And it sounds like the PWHL has some major announcements schedule for Monday, as all their related Instagram pages are posting 9/9/2024. I’m assuming naming and jersey/logo news is forthcoming. Maybe schedule and arena info, as the New York team for one player in CT, Long Island and NJ last season.
  16. this game is really setting up to be a disappointment. 4.5 point favorites at home to a team that probably wasn’t as bad as it’s record indicated last season. The bears defense was awful against competent QBs, and it’s entirely possible Levis is competent in his second year. Chicago could look bad and lose this game but still have a solid season.
  17. You used that moronic shorthand in a post that was 8 paragraphs long and didn’t say anything
  18. That’s Stan’s problem to figure out
  19. The bears have been a national laughingstock for so long the networks aren’t going to count on them as a ratings driver until they prove it on the field. They’ve played so many unwatchable games this decade
  20. https://japantoday.com/category/features/lifestyle/japan’s-toxic-drinking-culture-no-one-talks-about
  21. Cubs stayed relevant until week 1 of nfl season, hope the bears can stay in the hunt until the nhl begins because we know the hawks won’t make it until bowl season
