  1. And then lo and behold they went into the next season with virtually the same 83 win caliber team it’s okay to flip out and assume the worst with Jed’s cubs. Jed is a known entity and we know he won’t work to improve the team. He’ll attempt to tweak on the margins but won’t make them better until he stumbles upon a lighting in the bottle acquisition for an emerging superstar from within.
  2. Taking on somebody else’s overpaid player is defeating the purpose and would mean that yes, it is that hard to trade Bellinger
  3. Seth Jones to miss 4 weeks. and in less impactful news, Athanasiou also missing 4-6 weeks in Rockford.
  4. Spotrac says he’s already signed a 1-year deal with cubs. That seems odd from a timing standpoint. Did they just want to avoid arbitration or is this bad info?
  5. Non winning hockey coaches do not last. Collitan lasted 12 games into his third season. Savard barely made it past year one. The last guy to make it through three consecutive losing seasons did it when Hitler* was still alive. Richardson was set up to fail as a coach and nobody expected much this season. But most expected better. NHL coaches take the fall regularly, fair or not. It’s probably not fair and he probably doesn’t deserve to be fired. But history suggests the Blackhawks cannot keep playing at this (lack of) pace and keep the head coach employed. And the current throw anything against the wall strategery and non-communication with veterans can be turning people off. Davidson may not be beholden to NHL history, but he’s going to start feeling pressure to make changes. *original version
  6. The bruins fired Jim Montgomery after a slow start to the season. The Bruins currently occupy the 2nd wild card sport in the east. Pittsburgh and Detroit also off to slow starts and may be canning their head coaches. Will be interesting to see how many out last Richardson.
  7. No, but they score more than the bears, give up less and have a professional NFL head coach.
  8. Yes. That is what happens when you don’t score
  9. Chicago is a 3.5 point home dog vs the second place Vikings
  10. William H Eberflus as…, The Cooler
  11. For the record I do not seem them building a double digit lead at any time next week. they had their circle the wagons game this week.
  12. He had every opportunity to make a change this past season and did not. This is Poles’s team, from head coach down to long snapper. Poles chose to go into the 2024 season with all these people around.
  13. Well there was that one game up in the Niagara Falls region
  14. No reason to be looking at standings with this team
  15. That’ll be short lived if they got 0-6 in the division. it’s looking like week 17 is going to be a make or break pointless victory week for Eberflus
  16. You’d take GB and GIVE the points
  17. They win this game ugly when everyone doubts them. Pull off one more win with multiple TDs then look respectable in some of their losses the rest of the way and Eberflus returns. He gets credit for “keeping the locker room together” and “fighting through adversity” Poles gets to wait another year to pull the trigger, hires a new guy and they lose more games in 2026 than 2025. Poles gets replaced and that guy gets an opportunity to hire “his guy”
  18. there is nothing in the rulebook
  19. I don’t think Seiya sliding back into RF is a positive
  20. Where you getting two wins from?
