The 12 years thing is kind of unprecedented, right? Is it likely that they decided to do it this way because they knew they were going to Qatar and wanted to give them more time to build? What a waste to build all those stadia in a country with nobody to fill them.

Did the US have any models as part of their bid group? I see Russia and Australia used them. You could probably keep the shieks distracted with a few of them.

I thought China was expected to be next in line? 2026. Due to rules, if Qatar gets 2022, China can't get 2026. Oh, didn't realize they were in the same group. How often do those get rearranged?

It would be kind of hysterical if oil prices plummeted again between now and then and completely ruined their ability to build those crazy stadia.

I watched the presentation and it was kind of embarrassing. Landon is not a charismatic guy who can talk well. Clinton seemed hungover and/or completely disinterested and was apparently trying to guilt everybody into voting for the USA because of all the good he's done personally since leaving office. And the whole thing was just about money, which while nice, should probably be a little more subtle.

Why would I be talking about the Sacremento Kings when I was talking about LA area teams? If you're not a hockey fan, I could see how you'd make that mistake. Sometimes all those California teams just kinda get grouped together. Yup, don't follow hockey. But its kind of ridiculous were still talking about it. Take a walk jersey. To Sacremento or Buffalo?
