  1. There's just no reason to ask the question at all. I saw the video after reading about it and that is not laughing at a joke on the sideline. That's the kid of grin somebody has at a funeral when another person tries to lighten the mood. It's inconsequential and a very stupid thing to ask about in a press conference.
  2. Is this a serious question? In my confidence pool I put 16 points on Philly and 2 on Carolina Not really. I haven't been holding on to better teams to use later all season, but was looking into what it would entail this week. Probably not worth holding onto Philly for next week's game. It's only me and one other guy left, and he's already used the Eagles.
  3. You're getting a whole lot more cost certainty with the first group Perhaps, but you're likely getting more payroll flexibility with the 2nd group, and with the second 3 you have a much better shot at 1 or more going nuts for a year than with the first group. How?
  4. Why was your dad loathing over Teixeira while lauding his amazing arm? Oh, and you two should probably start looking into counseling.
  5. Could they be that desperate to convince the fans they are in it for the longhaul? That seems so dumb.
  6. Bigger baseball fans hate the American thing and require jumbotrons? Do you just mean great big fat people or people who are fans of baseball? Because if it's the latter I don't think you could be more wrong.
  7. I don't know how Johnson got off without a suspension. I think an unprovoked sucker punch getting just a fine one week before pretty much sealed the deal for Johnson, since that was actually a provoked fight.
  8. Won by 14 last year despite being a bad team. Won by 27 the previous year despite being mediocre. 4-2 in Detroit during the Lovie era, with the only losses occuring during 5-11 and 7-9 seasons. The 2007 loss really stands out because it was when many of us still thought the Bears were good despite losing Briggs in the Cowboys game and having everything go downhill. Plus it was a terrible come from ahead loss. But I'm not really worried about playing there, per se.
  9. Philly or Seattle in survivor.
  10. Yup. I never said I thought he shouldn't be in the top 10. I was saying that knowing how the media in general thinks I don't think cutler is gonna get much respect until he sheds the "all talent no brains"/"loser since high school"/"inconsistent" labels he has. Jeff George
  11. Yup...just waiting for that first idiot to somehow still have the Bucs (0-4 vs. +500) ahead of the Bears in their power rankings. But realistically no one will. Enjoy being the "team with good record that has beaten no one" Tampa! Don't forget KC. Or the Jets.... Didn't realize how weak that has been. But they did beat NE and MIA
  12. Quite a few Packers fans seeing that scenario play out too, except with us instead of the Bears. I'm not buying it. I think both the Packers and Bears are better teams than the Giants and Bucs. We'll see if that's proven over the next month. Being better doesn't matter as much if they can't win 11. Bears need to be Redskin fans with 2 games against NYG and one vs Tampa.
  13. I still think some of their troubles are due to having played more than any team. As the season progresses, they should climb that ladder, unless injuries creep up. And supposedly Hossa got hurt in practice. But they shouldn't be 4th.

  15. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81c82290/article/divisionleading-bears-chiefs-could-miss-out-on-playoffs?module=HP_cp2 Kirwan has the Bears finishing 10-6 and missing the playoffs. I definitely fear this is a possibility.
  16. Lebron's may have been quicker, but Favre's has been more pronounced. I believe there are still an awful lot of Lebron worshippers out there right now. Nobody likes Favre, not even fans of the team he is on.
  17. And that MNF game comes off 10 days of rest following their Thursday game last week.
  18. Lebron was always looked at in such a positive light, always said the right things, did the right things, etc. Then came The Decision and he hasn't said or done anything right since then. I think that quite a bit of what Dan Gilbert said at the time of his departure must have had some merit to it. No one seems to be protecting him at this point and it's been "foot squarely into mouth" ever since he left there. His rep has changed more than any player in any sport I can remember, in such a short period of time, without doing anything criminal anyway. Favre?
  19. Urlacher is no longer defensive player of the year material, but he's an elite linebacker. His issue has been staying healthy and playing. When he's healthy, which he is, he's terrific.
  20. Does it have anything to do with the fact that the game was seen in something like 85% of the country? That's awesome either way. well, considering it's including all monday and sunday night games, yes, it is impressive. I remember being surprised reading what the Sunday games get in ratings. Something like 16-17, which is incredible for daytime TV when all those sitcoms struggle for 5-6.
  21. That article annoys me because they imply that Lance Briggs (and Urlacher) is not an elite LB. That's kind of dumb. They are a little older, but not old. And it's essentially the same personel that accounted for what was easily the most talented defense in the league in 2006, plus Peppers. The defense has plenty of talent to work with. Briggs, Urlacher and Peppers match up favorably with most top threes in the league.
  22. I was wondering about that, and I don't get it. CBS doesn't have an attractive early game other than Pats @ Bears. They already have Miami @ Jets at 4:15, and KC @ SD isn't terrible either. There also isn't a huge Fox early game, unless you count NYG @ MIN. It's a CBS doubleheader. They won't have national competition from Fox for the 4:15 game. They'll be able to get a huge audience with the Chicago and NE markets with no Fox. Sure, but they already have Miami @ Jets and KC @ SD. Plus Fox does have 2 late games that will take away in certain markets. They could dominate 1 and 4, but now their 1 games won't compete with FOX's games. It seems like they are putting all their eggs in the 4pm basket instead of taking both.
