  1. Good riddance. He let Tauchman and Canario (both extremely cheap) leave and now he doesn't have a backup CF. He bragged about Shaw and then spent months looking for a replacement/insurance for Shaw. As for the bullpen, he believes in quantity over quality.
  2. I'm not sure Turner even brought a mitt with him to spring training.
  3. The owners that put winning over profits for the most part are owners of winning teams.
  4. You have to file in both states.
  5. I don't know why they haven't signed Canha yet. I guess Jed is trying to wait him out and save another $50.
  6. I think most of us think Shaw is the real deal, but we seem to be spending a lot of time and energy on who can be his insurance/back up.
  7. I don't understand how Rojas is aiming higher. Urshela career stat line is .273/.316/.413 with 15 HR and 68 RBI with an OPS+ of 99 and he can play 1B. Rojas is .247/.323/.362 with 10 HR and 54 RBI with OPS+ of 92. Urshela signed for $2 million/ 1 year. Others are allotting $5 million for Rojas. If they want to sign Canha too, that's fine.
  8. I mentioned weeks ago that Urshela would be a great backup IF who could also play 1B. Apparently a $2 million dollar deal for one year was too expensive for Jed.
  9. Hoyer believes in quantity over quality when it comes to 3B, backup IF, and relief pitchers.
  10. That's setting a pretty low bar when you have teams like the WS, A's, Pirates, etc.
  11. Teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees spend money like it's going out of style, but all teams make an obscene amount of money on TV rights, merchandising, tax write-offs, etc. before the season starts. Obviously, the big market teams have an advantage, but nobody is losing money. Ricketts investment has at least quadrupled since he bought it,
  12. Why would "the fix" be in? Ohtani liked Southern California, the Dodgers are a. great organization (with a long history of winning), Los Angeles has a lot of endorsement opportunities, and the Dodgers made the best offer.
  13. He's only played CF 5 times in his career too. LOL
  14. People keep saying that Tucker can play 1B when Busch sits. I suppose he "can", but he has only played 4 games at 1B and that was in 2019.
  15. Buehler isn't going to sign as a TOR pitcher, but we signed Boyd to a 2-year contract with a total of 1.0 WAR and 123 IP over the last 3 years.
  16. I don't get how they know what Steele, Imanaga, Busch, PCA are going to be making in 2027 and beyond since the players and their agents still don't know what they will get in arbitration or in an extension.
  17. Does that future spending include giant raises/extensions to Steele, Imanaga, Busch, PCA, etc.?
  18. They won't stay under this year if they sign Burnes and that "staggering amount under in 2027" will be eaten up by raises, arbitration, and looking for a new LF, DH, and solid middle of the rotation starter.
  19. Yeah, Suzuki can point out that he's now a DH against his will and when he mentioned it the trade rumors started.
  20. If the Padres would kick in some money, Arraez would be nice to have on the bench/3B support.
  21. Jed had better hire a doctor with the money to keep our regulars healthy with that bench.
  22. I saw another name that would be a cheap option at 3B/back up IF - Paul DeJong.
  23. Another cheap option might be Gio Urshela who has experience at 3B, SS, and 1B,
