  1. Maybe, but if I'm right we're going to lose a lot of games waiting for him to turn into a ML hitter.
  2. The Padres had just traded for Yonder Alonzo to play 1B which means Rizzo was blocked. Also, the Pardes wanted Andrew Cashner.
  3. His OPS+ is now 56 after he has had a "hot streak". I just don't think he's going to become a decent, ML hitter and the more that he continues below the Mendoza line the more his trade value disappears.
  4. They could certainly add a bat in CF. Bellinger can play RF and Suzuki DH. If we're serious about offense, they ought to play Tauchman.
  5. Okay, then trade other prospects for Chisolm and send PCA down until he learns to hit.
  6. I don't think he's overrated, but offering PCA for Chisholm would have been a good deal too.
  7. PCA still has a lot of trade value. Trade PCA + for Robert and you solve all of the offensive woes.
  8. Paredes at worst gives us a solid bat and 3B for multiple years at a cheap price. At best, he's an All-Star slugger and 3B.
  9. That's like a weatherman saying, "It's going to rain or not".
  10. Jed's career peaked when he was getting coffee for Theo in 2016.
  11. Somebody with a .740 OPS and a 108 OPS+ would look great in this lineup of Mendoza line hitters.
  12. The same complaints about Bellinger and yet we see what happens to the Cubs lineup when he's not in it.
  13. Jeb will keep his job with mediocre, under budget team because that's all Ricketts needs.
  14. Why does it make you laugh? 2 bats and a closer for a team that doesn't want to spend money or trade prospects is a really tough hill to climb.
  15. Trading a bunch of prospects for Paredes solves a lot of offensive problems for years to come.
  16. Ding, Ding, we have a winner. Ricketts is horrible, Hoyer is just as bad, and Hawkins doesn't seem much better.
  17. They should have sent PCA down to the minors weeks ago (or trade him) and then Tauchman and/or Canario could play CF until Bellinger comes back.
  18. Tearing what down? A mediocre team that doesn't want to spend more money or trade prospects to be competitive.
  19. If only the schedule makers would let us play only really bad teams all season, we might be mediocre.
  20. There's no way the Cubs will be in on Soto. Did everyone forget the Ohtani saga?
  21. If only Ricketts would sell, we might have a chance next year.
  22. My problem with that is you would probably have to a "real" prospect like Shaw instead of Morel to get Paredes.
  23. And waiting to trade him means other teams will be snapping up players like Paredes.
  24. Another 1-1 1/2 years will really make him worthless as trade bait. At least now other teams might see some potential on what he did last year.
