    PCA is having an unbelievable year, but what is bolded above also shows how the quality of the hitters has diminished since 1987.

    I can't believe Ohtani betting could be kept a secret. With all of the hate for the Dodgers and their spending habits, I can't believe that there wouldn't be someone that knows something that would love to take down the Dodgers by leaking the information.

    I always wondered why they didn't try this sooner. 6'6" makes a pretty good target for the IFs and if he could hit a little, he would make for a good platoon OF/1B.

    For most teams and in most situations, you should value offensive WAR more than defensive, but the Cubs and their lousy pitching is the exception.

    He made the right play. In a situation like that, you don't let the tying run get into scoring position.

    I hope Shaw is traded this offseason, so this constant talk of Shaw as an OF on a 90-win team with a ton of money will stop.

    Obviously, the Angels wanted Nimmala (20 yr. old SS @ AA #42 prospect), but the other two (Micheletti - 24 yr. old CO @AA and Rivero - 19 yr. old P @ Rookie ball) weren't anything outstanding. Rojas + Wiggins + Kepley sounds pretty close.

    Shaw is better as a backup infielder or better yet as trade bait.

    Soriano would have been a great pickup. Solid starter making $3 million this year and two more years of control.

    Resign Suzuki, sign Arozarena, and trade Alcantara + Shaw + Wiggins for Kirby. Wouldn't mind expanding the deal to get Brendon Donovan too.

    I think Alcantara will be traded this offseason in a package with Shaw for a controllable SP.

    It's a shame that our FO and owner can't figure out creative accounting.

    Probably just a crazy rumor, but if it did happen, I would love to see the Cubs get Goldscmidt. Yankees acquire: Rafael Devers Jung Hoo Lee Giants acquire: Carlos Rodon Jasson Dominguez OR Spencer Jones RHP Elmer Rodriguez (No. 3) OR RHP Ben Hess (No. 6) RHP Xavier Rivas (No. 25)

    The M's would have to kick in a boatload of money.

    No fair. I was told that we had to wait for the deadline before we could make a trade.

    Shaw and Rodiguez have a lot more trade value than Triantos.

    I think it's obvious that one of Shaw or Ramirez is going to be traded. How many substitute IFs does one team need?

    I don't follow other teams, but I do think that striking out 10 times a game certainly reduces your chances of producing runs. It seems like they average 10 strikeouts a game.

    Hoyer already blew his chance to get top value for Shaw last off season. Jed loves to over value his prospects when he needs to make a big deal.

    Whatever the asking price is now is certainly not going to go down at the deadline when you have all of the contenders bidding for the same player(s).

    He's breathing, has an arm, and IS CHEAP. Just the way Jed likes it.

    I like to do a lot of one-stop shopping which is why I mentioned Mize and Finnegan. When there were rumors of Shaw to Boston for pitching, I also wanted Duran as a buy-low, change-of-scenery acquisition. I would like Jed to make an early trade to see what else needs to be done at the deadline.

    More of a reason to make a trade now before those borderline contenders get involved in the trade market.
