  1. Rather than the Mariners and their infield situation, I'd rather get Crochet from the WS who need to upgrade everything.
  2. After getting a top SP, I would like them to sign Bieber for 2026 (or maybe late 2025).
  3. It will be fun to watch, since we won't be participating.
  4. Sorry baseballtradealues.com. I guess the trade proposal was a bad contract deal for all the players involved.
  5. He's owed $138 million over the next 5 years (ages 31-35), so maybe a team that seems obsessed with staying under the LT ought to take a look at it.
  6. The reason you would use Swanson is because of his contract. As Stratos posted, he is easily replaced with Nico for a lot less money and you open a spot for Shaw or Busch if Bellinger stays. The offense would look pretty good with Bellinger, Busch/Shaw, Hoerner, Paredes, Happ, PCA, Suzuki, Murphy, and Soler.
  7. Saw this trade proposal on MLBTR: Dansby Swanson for Sean Murphy and Jorge Soler.
  8. Outside of pitching, it's hard to discuss the roster until we find out what Bellinger is doing.
  9. It's hard to have a well-rested bullpen when modern day baseball shoots for 5 innings from the starter.
  10. They're both on a HOF path and we all know that Hoyer/Ricketts isn't going to sign Soto.
  11. Some of that money that people are throwing at Soto can be used to extend Vlad.
  12. Obviously, we don't know if Vlad, Tucker, Crochet, etc. are available, but all I have been hearing on the board is how much money we have and how fantastic our ml system is, so we have the assets to pretty much acquire anybody that available. We might have to overpay in dollars for a FA and prospects in a trade, but now is the time to do it.
  13. Well i hope that ends all of the discussion on the importance of run differential.
  14. What do they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?
  15. Baseball reference has him at 3.6 this year and OPS+ of 95. I guess I should have compared the two contracts rather than the players.
  16. Hoerner is by far my favorite player on this team. It sounds old-fashioned, but he is a true professional in all aspects of the game. It's a shame Swanson's contract is too terrible to trade, because moving Hoerner to SS and having him and PCA at the top of the lineup could really be interesting.
  17. Dansby is the new Heyward. $40 million down and $138 million to go.
  18. People are always going to bitch about something when things don't go there way - pass interference calls favoring the Chiefs, the election was stolen, Harris was given the questions ahead of time in the debate, etc.
  19. I wasn't singling you out, but there have been a lot of posts about bad calls hurting the Cubs all season long. I would guess that a lot of teams' message boards are claiming the same thing about their teams too. In the end, the good teams are at the top and the mediocre teams are lagging behind just as expected.
  20. We would love for accurate and consistent strike calling but using that as an excuse is the sign of a mediocre team looking for excuses. Every team is using the same umps and quality teams somehow manage to play through it and win games.
  21. To get Vlad and a solid pitcher, I wouldn't worry about the system.
  22. I hate the thought of trading Nico, but he has the most trade value while having a possible replacement. as I posted before, going all out for Vlad and using Busch, Paredes, Shaw at 2B/3b would improve the offense.
  23. I think he's playing through an injury in addition to the psychological effect of playing on the worst team in MLB history. I think he's the perfect candidate for a bounce back, change-of-scenery player. 26 years old with career slash of .269/.317/.478/.795 with 31 HR and 86 RBI and 118 OPS. The last 26-year-old that had similar stats that came off of 2 horrendous seasons plagued by injuries has worked out great for us
  24. Go all out for Vlad in a trade and use Busch as super utility. If the asking price on Robert has come down, I would love to swing a mega deal for Crochett and Robert as DH.
  25. Their big problem is inconsistency. They went months with no offense from PCA, Amaya, and 3B and long streaks of very good relief pitching and bad relief pitching.
