  1. I posted yesterday about the rumor of Stroman, Vrieling, and Selvidge for Bellinger which might be a decent deal (if true). We fill the bottom of the rotation, get two pitching prospects, and save about $9 million this year. Trading Bellinger has to get us a player to help the MLB roster next year.
  2. If a team like the Yankees doesn't worry about breaking even on the dollars for a player that might win them a WS, then he is useful and valuable.
  3. I agree that we don't need to trade Bellinger and/or Hoerner, but that seems to be all of the Cubs' talk this offseason. There are lots of ways to improve the club, but not when the front office isn't willing to spend money or trade prospects.
  4. https://fansided.com/this-yankees-cubs-trade-would-give-new-york-an-all-star-juan-soto-backup-plan https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/cubs-trade-proposal-ships-2-time-all-star-to-yankees-to-replace-anthony-rizzo/ar-AA1uA8dE?ocid=BingNewsSerp
  5. I saw a rumor of Bellinger to the Yankees for Stroman + Selvidge + Vrieling. We save about $9 million and get 2 pitching prospects.
  6. Interesting trade proposal from BTV: Luzardo + Faucher for Alcantara + Arias + Mcgeary
  7. It looks like Ballesteros is more DH than catcher. According to Baseballtradevalues.com Ballesteros has a value of 21.9 while Raleigh is 19.8, O'Hoppe is 24.9, and Langeliers is at 20. He probably wouldn't get any of those guys alone in a trade, but adding another prospect might get it done.
  8. Rather than the Mariners and their infield situation, I'd rather get Crochet from the WS who need to upgrade everything.
  9. After getting a top SP, I would like them to sign Bieber for 2026 (or maybe late 2025).
  10. It will be fun to watch, since we won't be participating.
  11. Sorry baseballtradealues.com. I guess the trade proposal was a bad contract deal for all the players involved.
  12. He's owed $138 million over the next 5 years (ages 31-35), so maybe a team that seems obsessed with staying under the LT ought to take a look at it.
  13. The reason you would use Swanson is because of his contract. As Stratos posted, he is easily replaced with Nico for a lot less money and you open a spot for Shaw or Busch if Bellinger stays. The offense would look pretty good with Bellinger, Busch/Shaw, Hoerner, Paredes, Happ, PCA, Suzuki, Murphy, and Soler.
  14. Saw this trade proposal on MLBTR: Dansby Swanson for Sean Murphy and Jorge Soler.
  15. Outside of pitching, it's hard to discuss the roster until we find out what Bellinger is doing.
  16. It's hard to have a well-rested bullpen when modern day baseball shoots for 5 innings from the starter.
  17. They're both on a HOF path and we all know that Hoyer/Ricketts isn't going to sign Soto.
  18. Some of that money that people are throwing at Soto can be used to extend Vlad.
  19. Obviously, we don't know if Vlad, Tucker, Crochet, etc. are available, but all I have been hearing on the board is how much money we have and how fantastic our ml system is, so we have the assets to pretty much acquire anybody that available. We might have to overpay in dollars for a FA and prospects in a trade, but now is the time to do it.
  20. Well i hope that ends all of the discussion on the importance of run differential.
  21. What do they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?
  22. Baseball reference has him at 3.6 this year and OPS+ of 95. I guess I should have compared the two contracts rather than the players.
  23. Hoerner is by far my favorite player on this team. It sounds old-fashioned, but he is a true professional in all aspects of the game. It's a shame Swanson's contract is too terrible to trade, because moving Hoerner to SS and having him and PCA at the top of the lineup could really be interesting.
  24. Dansby is the new Heyward. $40 million down and $138 million to go.
  25. People are always going to bitch about something when things don't go there way - pass interference calls favoring the Chiefs, the election was stolen, Harris was given the questions ahead of time in the debate, etc.
