  1. You have a 2 run lead and you cant throw strikes? What a joke.
  2. \ Yeah same here *sigh* What are the chances they will get rained out? I hate the Tampa Fox affliate they suck *sigh*
  3. Anyone know what the pitching matchup is for the game Tuesday against the Rays? Im gonna be at that game. Ive kinda lost track of the rotation order.
  4. Ditto, to me the current day broadcast team pales in comparison. I have a hard time understanding some of the hate for Stone on these boards, I dont think it reflects popular opinon at all.
  5. Id love it to happen but I think people that are expecting the Cubs to release Marquis are a little delusional, they arent going to throw away all that money. I think at best we have to hope he's burried in the bulpen, which just takes up space on the roster someone of value could be taking. How much is left on his contract? I just dont see them eating it.
  6. This thread so far has made me laugh so hard I cried. Far more entertaining than the ESPN article that I didnt even bother to read, Im sure of it. Thanks for brightening my day guys.
  7. Vine, just so you know this rule isn't random.... Posted 3/26/06 #6 in Tim's post: viewtopic.php?p=843279#p843279 On CBS league site under eligibility: http://nsbb.baseball.sportsline.com/help/rules Neither of these has changed in the three seasons this league has been active and is the same for any player at any position. If Tim has made an exception in the past, I am not aware of it or it was before I had commissioner capabilities. I have always followed the above. Possition players yes going from relief to SP no. Its not the same thing. You shouldnt have to wait a month to use a player simply because they are moving from the bulpen to the starting rotation. I can think of at least once that I had this situation last year and the possition was changed without problems. Again, Im no longer interested in participating here, this will be my last post in these forums.
  8. When was this ever a rule? Im done with this league, replace me. Ive had 3 or 4 times in the past that Ive had pitchers that were relievers changed to SP just by asking. Actually the last time I had this issue I was told any time a reliever has his status changed to SP just to ask Tim and he'd change it. 5 Starts? What a joke. Im done, I really hate what this league has become, and the rules just seems to change at random. The way pitching in general is handled here is an absolute joke and it puts everyone that doesnt have 10 quality SP at a disadvantage. Its not enjoyable or entertaining so I take my leave. I could be a real ass and just relase my entire roster but Im not like that.
  9. The game was tied going into the ninth, so it wasn't a save situation. In addition, it's very strange that you thought a 1-run game with the Cubs having 5 ABs left was over. With Zambrano pitching the way he did, the game had that feel of a loss about it. I dont have alot of confidence in our middle relief. *shrug* Ive seen our offense come back from worse but, I envisioned the Pirates scoring more runs. Plus works got me exhausted and stressed out so I figured it was as good a time for a nap as any. I had hoped to come back to hearing about a Cubs comeback win, I guess it wasnt in the cards. We were bound to lose to these guys eventually. If I had the ability to watch the game Id probably have hung around for the whole thing, but I had only radio today. Wish Dishnetwork had been able to get extrainnings back, but they suck oh well *sigh*
  10. WoW, I went and took a nap after the Zambrano melt down, I figured that was game. I had no idea that we'd come back to head into the 9th with the lead only to have Marmol blow the save. Im glad I didnt stick around. On the upside, the bulpen looks to have pitched really well after Z other than Marmol. Was the HR he gave up pretty much crushed or wind blown? Thats bizaro when you cant put the game away with Marmol pitching the 9th...
  11. Ditto and I find it hard to grasp why any other Cubs fan wouldnt feel the same way. Also makes me very happy to feel this way, and I certainly dont think there is any reason to be critical of anyone that feels this way, but hey whatever makes you happy. I'll boo him everytime he comes to the plate, regardless of the outcome. He sucks. Hate hate hate hate hate...
  12. Please change his status from RP to SP. I'll be using him as such until he is demoted to the pen again or returned to the minors.
  13. lol Lou you assume the crowd will be on his side. Boo Cubs fans, boo like you have never booed in your life, I want to hear it down here in FL. I wish I could fly up there and get tickets so I could join in. Jim Edmonds? *sigh* what a horrible day in Cubdom.
  14. Ugh, this is the worst idea I have ever seen. If this happens I hope Wriggley shakes from the massive amount of boos every time he comes to the plate. I think most Cub fans hate Edmonds, even if he were in his prime most of us would have a hard time with this move. At this point in his career he's a waste of a roster spot, why on earth does Jim think this is a good idea? I cant understand this.
  15. Is there an update about Aram's status anywhere, I cant seem to find any post. Day to day? Did he have an mri or xrays?
  16. Does anyone know where I can see that Reed Johnson catch from yesterday online? Perferably a download not a stream. I still havent seen that play.
  17. Can someone describe the play for those of us that cant watch the game :(
  18. There's a thread about it in transactions or general baseball..i forget which Well I had made a post about it in Transactions, but for some reason it was deleted. I dont know why it would be anywhere else since it is a "Transaction" but I dont understand alot of what the mods do on these boards half the time. My guess was someone was pissy that they didnt post it first so they erased it.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3363283 Wow, they sure go through the GMs. Seems like he had a short leash, they werent really expected to do that much this year anyway were they?
  20. Hearing about all of Vitter's defensive problems got me to wondering. What kind of adjustments have to be made when you start playing on a pro field as opposed to a highschool field. Are the deminsions completely different? I never played or watched much highschool baseball. Im guessing that if he had as many problems handling 3rd in Highschool they would have moved him to the outfield. Im wondering, what are the major obstacles? Montenez couldnt handle the transition very well either. Is it common for highschool infield prospects to be unable to transition thier defensive game to the pro level? The hitting challenges are pretty easy to understand but I never really gave much thought to the defensive part of the transition.
  21. Really? /golfclap yay for you... You've accomplished something that everyone in the league has, Im sure you must be filled with pride and a sense of accomplishment. Me? well Im 2 games into the season and already feel like its pointless to try. If your entertained, great, at least someone is.
  22. The Phillies announcers are even saying Soriano knocked it out of Fukudome's glove and that they had it on the Jumbotron, they were like wow they shouldn't be playing that on the scoreboard if the umps see that they might reverse the call.
  23. Whats the score? XM has the score as 4-2 Philly but the bases werent loaded on that HR were they? lol That cant be right, should be 2-2 yes?
