  1. Yup this is exactly what I expected from the Cubs offense today. *sigh*
  2. Looks like buisness as usual for a Harden start. No offense.
  3. I hope this is not another one of those 2-1 or 3-2 losses where Harden has 10 Ks in 6 shutout innings then the bulpen blows it. Poor Harden keeps pitching his guts out, only to get screwed by the offense. I hope we aren't due to be owned by another mediocre pitcher again. Id like to see us score a bunch of runs early today.
  4. Hasn't he pitched sat and sun though? Brewers announcer made it sound like they were taking Gaudin out for Cotts. I thought the way he was pitching they should leave him in, luckily he did. Lou is probably over using him but what can you do, he only has so many good options.
  5. If you read, you'd see you have lots of company. Actually if there was 1 game in this series I figured we'd lose it was this one. If we win its a bonus.
  6. Good ridance, no one likes a know-it-all snob anyway.
  7. Not sure where you are going with this? And I think you mean irony...I see none. I do know Crane Kenney and I do know Andy MacPhail. It's ironic that your busted him out for being immature when it's clear your personal bias affects your evaluation of these people as professionals. No personal bias. It's fact based and on first hand experience. Personal bias based on first hand experience.
  8. With Zell, maybe but not with MLB. It requires approval by 75% of the ownership as you probably already know. Look at what happened in Boston with the sale of the Red Sox. The Red Sox weren't being sold by a public company. One which needs the liquid capital. And the more I think about it the more I doubt that MLB could drum up a 75% "No" vote if Cuban were the highest bidder. It's counter to the owner's best interests. Red Sox were being sold by a trust which required the highest bidder to be accepted. They don't need a 75% no vote. They need a 75% yes vote and I would be really shocked if that happened. Why is that? I dont think he'd be making the attempt if he didnt think he had a shot.
  9. Lets see the Cubbies are going to try this again and bring a starting pitcher up and throw him in the relief role. Look folks he will become a "two pitch" pitcher as in the bullpen he will throw a FB/SL combination. Does success in AAA automatically mean you will do well in the Majors? Hell no, as while Shark throws hard he throws a flat FB. I've said this before that pitchers have better success with a mid 90's FB with late movement than someone that throws High 90's with a straight FB. Then you throw him in the middle of a playoff race with the Brew crew coming and I can't wait to watch this. He has little other than the Fastball/Splitfinger anyway he's always been pretty much a 2 pitch pitcher. I always figured his future was as a bulpen arm. No one was saying success in AAA automaticly means you be sucessful in the majors. THere are countless starters who have been called up and had success in the pen, I think Shark can handle it.
  10. I agree with your 2nd sentence. As for your first one, that's some fuzzy logic. Technically, it's true. He didn't say, if you have success in AAA you will have success in the majors. He said you can. Exactly. I just think its worth giving him a shot, I believe he has the stuff/makeup to handle big league hitters. As shaky as some of the guys have been in the bulpen lately I think its worth giving him a chance.
  11. If you can have success in AAA you can have success in the majors. I wouldnt mind seeing Shark at all, I certainly think he'll be better than Howry has been.
  12. Cashner only pitched the 1 inning then?
  13. They should give the loss to Howry just on principle.
  14. I guess Lou figures why waste a good reliver in a game your gonna lose anyway.
  15. lol maybe if he can pitch 18 innings. This is the best pitching performance by a Cub thatI can remember blown by lack of offense. Just really sad.
  16. LOL well 7 innings, 2 BB, 10K, 1 hit and he's going to get the loss... thats... great *sigh*
  17. Rich coming out for another inning?
  18. Going to bed, what a waste of an incredible effort by Harden. This offense is starting to seriously worry me.
  19. lol his bat is the least of my worries, plenty other bats in this lineup sucking right now
  20. How's Harden's fastball velocity tonight guys? I have no tv or radio tonight, Im just currious.
