  1. I know he isn't saying it is affecting him, but do you think his Rose's ankle is still bothering him at all? Also, what about boozer's foot? I'm not allowed to watch the playoffs because of a ban placed upon me back in the mid-90's. Every playoff game I watched, the Bulls lost, so I try to stay as far away from the TV as possible. With that being said, I can't actually SEE if it looks like his ankle is bothering him at all. Is he getting the same quick 1st, 2nd, 3rd steps on guys or does he look somewhat mortal in his quickness?
  2. obligatory "I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him... As long as someone else is footing the bill" post.
  3. I'm only a casual hockey fan and really only follow the blackhawks and don't pay much attention to anyone else, so with that preface, I'll ask a stupid question: Is it me, or were the blackhawks severely undersized? It just seemed like the Canucks could do whatever they wanted with them (See the body slam of Toews). Did losing Dustin Byfuglien hurt THAT much? I loved that guy, but couldn't take off my homer-goggles and know if he was actually any good, or just got lucky and was in the right spot at the right time in the right system type of thing. Either way, it was a long season, felt like longer playoffs... looking forward to see what comes next year.
  4. Wasn't aware Mike (Pappy's) was opening a 2nd BBQ place. Also, Montgomery Inn is rubbish! Meat was dry and flavorless. They relied on their sauce which is more vinegar/carolina based. It was awful. Plus, any "BBQ joint" that requires reservations and has valet parking is hardly a "BBQ joint".
  5. Or maybe he realized how terrible he actually has been. 9.45 ERA 6.2 IP 4 HR 3 BB 3 K 1 WP 1 HBP 1 SV 4 BSV Everyone knows the best fans thing is media driven BS anyways. The fans believe it too. Of course, I'd be delusional too if I had this as a local delicacy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gooey_butter_cake. Gooey Butter Cake is amazing! Also, I talked with a co-worker about Franklin calling out the "Best Fans in Baseball". His response was basically this: "Yeah, we are the best fans in baseball, because we know when someone is playing like crap and we call them out on it." I'm not sure how that's different than ANY other fanbase???
  6. Good news for him, though, is that the Bengals are looking at him at QB.
  7. Because Prince is a Boras client, he will be marketed much higher than he actually is. Something like: He has the raw power of Albert Pujols, Jimmy Fox and Mark McGuire, the ability to hit for a high average like Tony Gwynn or Rogers Hornsby, the defensive skills of Keith Hernandez, Pujols or Mark Grace, while running the bases like a young Rickey Henderson or Vince Coleman.

  9. While he was with the Yankees, Mariano Rivera taught him how to get people out. And just brushing against Jeter a few times while walking past him in the dugout probably made Wood a winner. Wood has actually been to the playoffs 4 times as a Cub. Yeah but we would have won Game 7 in 2003 if Wood had come in contact with Jeter. Truth. Derek Jeter's intangibles and excellence are kind of like herpes. Even if there is no visible breakout, there's still the risk (nay, chance) for it to spread!
  10. Per Ken Tremendous on Twitter: Red Sox must play .608 baseball for the entire rest of the year to win 95 games. It is April 7th. Thank you for pointing me to my new favorite account to follow. Ken Tremendous is money on twitter.
  11. [expletive] yeah. erik, you cannot defend this. Ditto everything they just said. Plus, living near St. Louis, I hear Cardinal fans talking about how it's like the 2nd coming of Eckstein... but better. Just makes me smile inside (and outside) to know he's no better than a bag of flaming dog poop on Ted's front porch.
  12. Theriot with another great game today! 0-3 with yet another big error at SS. THERIOT FOR MVP!
  13. Haha seriously? Pujols got booed at Busch?!? Yeah, he played like crap though... 0-5 and hit into like 3 double plays.
  14. So far, Theriot gets my vote for MVP. 1-5 with a crucial error in the 11th that lost them the game. Also, Pujols got booed quite a bit!
  15. plus, it's typically warmer in Tampa than it is in scranton and trenton this time of year. That might be a big part of the decision.
  16. I was totally that guy too. NO SERIOUSLY. WATCH THIS. HE'S SO FAST JENNINGS CAN'T EVEN BREAK HIS ANKLE BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO CUT BACK AND CHASE, HE HAS TO DO A 360 BECAUSE DERRICK IS ALREADY GONE OH MY GOD AHAHAHA! Yeah, cool. RIGHT?! I THINK IM GONNA BUY HIS SHOES THEY'RE ONLY LIKE $125.
  17. Homer Bailey is starting the season on the DL with a Shoulder Impingement. Expected to miss 2-4 weeks. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110326/SPT04/303260064/Homer-Bailey-miss-2-4-weeks?odyssey=nav|head
  18. It'll make for some interesting Cards/Brewers games though!
  19. Didn't Barney put on 20lbs of pure muscle this winter?
  20. they're legumes I'll give you my telescope for them...
  21. An all-white outfield? We're doomed.
  22. Didn't see it, but just read about it... Victorino is out, apparently bleeding quite a bit.
  23. Another Guitar Hero injury?? That was Zumaya. Zambrano was "email"
