  1. Pitching is just unreliable at best.
  2. So Pie's 822 OPS should do then?
  3. DeRosa .267 EqA, though he's listed under Rangers: His equivalent triple: .269/.335/.421. Izturis .234 EqA, .277/.329/.357 Jones .270 EqA, .284/.343/.473 Cedeno .237 EqA, .270/.307/.400
  4. They are down on all pitching. Geez. ERA's 3.79 Carlos Zambrano 4.29 Ted Lilly 4.24 Rich Hill 4.57 Mark Prior 4.62 Sean Gallagher 4.88 Sean Marshall 5.01 Wade Miller 5.00 Jason Marquis (roughly, i did a quick adjustment he was still listed under the Cardinals) 5.21 Donald Veal 45% breakout rate for Guzman, the highest among pitchers who are not in like A. They like Pie: .288/.342/.480 and Patterson: .287/.351/.465.
  5. I am bored and figured this could be a good idea. It's simply a mock draft serpentine style with the traditional 5x5 categories with 12 teams or so. It's easy just do it on here. i guess this could be turned into a league on yahoo or something. Anyone interested?
  6. Yeah he obliterated NPB last season. He won the MVP, made Best Nine, won a Gold Glove and had a league EqA near .350. I don't know what his translation would have been, but I guestimated around .315-.320 here. All that in centerfield with good defense as well. That would be giving him a very good argument as best centerfielder in all of baseball last year with only Sizemore and Beltran as comps.
  7. I wouldn't pick a pitcher, we've all seen firsthand how putting your eggs in a pitcher's basket opens you up to all sorts of attrition rates. So I guess it comes down to the best overall player, and I guess that's Alex Gordon. The teen OF kids are WAY too risky because of their proximity to the majors. Maybe Matsuzaka if I had to pick a pitcher. Edit: On second thought I change my mind: http://iitaihoudai.cocolog-nifty.com/iitaihoudai/images/fukudome.jpg Maybe Gourriel, but his lack of a walk rate scares me although he's improved on it some of late.
  8. Joe Morgan says a lot of things. Just because he's a hall of famer and was a great player, it doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about.
  9. He didn't play a lot out in center. I think he made 25 or so starts out there and about a third overall. I remember Wilken and other people in the organization believing that he could stick in center in some post-draft interviews.
  10. I like the analysis of your posts, but you need an editor to correct for spelling and typographical errors. :P I never claim to be a great writer or typer. Then again, I don't proof read any of that stuff and doing so would help quite a bit if I make as many mistakes as I do on my first draft of papers.
  11. They should not bend the facts. If I am not mistaken Colvin finished 2005 in a 4 for 39 slump, so "He started the year off hot, including a 19 game hitting streak and finished the year hitting safely in 32 of his final 40 games" might be true (I don't know if it is or isn't) but the slump must have been those final eight games, heh. Call it a shameless plug, but I like mine better.
  12. Chiefsvoice, give some of your past tirades on what it takes to win games I really don't know if you know what it takes to win in baseball, so no matter how wel you judge a player it just may not mean anything because you dont know how much he affects winning. okay guys thats what went through my head, did it come out making sense?
  13. Sickels is a huge step below BA. Goldstein is one man as far as the scouting goes - and he's essentially a BA graduate.
  14. http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/prospects/features/263061.html did anyone post this
  15. well marquis isnt major league material so i dont know where you are going with that one
  16. Nah I just meant that Auburn is at least similar to USC in that respect and a lot better than Michigan those ways.
  17. Dang, he would've had a nice impact as a freshman. Big XII Preview: http://collegebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=1169&CID=625956 SEC Preview: http://sebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=627279 ACC Preview: http://collegebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=627638 Auburn Preview: http://sebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=624729 (Man, Justin Bristow's stock has fallen) U La la http://sebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=626114
  18. Well then you have to put Boise ahead of USC. Wins aren't and will never be transitive.
  19. i dont about you guys, but i think a 2 loss auburn team deserves to be top 6 or so. Definitely ahead of Michigan, Boise, and probably Louisville. They lost to two top 25 teams (Arkansas and Georgia) and beat two top 5 teams (LSU and UF) USC lost to a top twenty five team, an unranked team and beat a pretty overrated Michigan team. If you look at the wins and losses Auburn is damn close if not ahead of USC.
  20. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <----- Happy. And still drinking.
  21. Slot money was $175,000.
  22. Well, the Pacific Coast League had better watch out, the National League won't have to worry about him.
  23. About college pitchers pitching inside. They pinch inside to get guys off the plate, they rarely pitch inside for strikes.
  24. Considering how desolate the farm system is for hitting and how jammed up it is in arms, I don't think that will happen. If Price becomes elite in the Prior status, that's another thing.
