  1. Zambrano has one more AB this season than Owings, Joe.
  2. In regards to its authenticity, one thing I do notice is that the current MLB jerseys only have one button at the top, not two. The extra room on each side of the main tag also looks a little suspect. But that one may be a slightly older style.
  3. Can you post the eBay link or provide a pic?
  4. Did I miss it or did ESPN really fail to show a replay of Lee's catch with the bases loaded and 2 out?
  5. One would be hard pressed to identify a better commit in the program's history than Rowley. He's one of the best players in the state for the class of 2009 and was already receiving strong interest from Kentucky, Illinois, Washington State, Kansas, Louisville, Purdue, and Georgetown to go along with offers from Davidson, Baylor, Wisconsin, Southern Illinois, Marquette, and Indiana. If Evan Anderson's verbal to Wisconsin was the tipping point, thank you, Mr. Anderson. Regardless of talent, though, I think that just about every Wildcat fan is absolutely stunned that we're going to have a guy who is 7 feet tall and close to 300 pounds in the low post. If Northwestern finishes above .500 next season, I'd have to believe that Carmody's job is safe.
  6. Lou's excuse will probably be that he needs to be held out in order to convert him to an outfielder. He'll then get one start in center before that experiment is scrapped.
  7. Idiots. I'd explain why, but I think the issue of whether or not the Cubs "need" a left-handed outfielder doesn't really need to be explored.
  8. Is it that hard to follow a simple request? One made by Tim, no less.
  9. Hmm. FireLouPiniella.com is registered to Domains by Proxy, inc. MLB Advanced Media, however, has 796 registered domains, including FireKennyWilliams.com
  10. He's the one who hired both Baker and Piniella, so no.
  11. It looks like it has been a full week since Cedeno's last start. Unbelievable.
  12. Carmody has answered his recruiting critics. We just landed 7 footer Kyle Rowley out of Lake Forest, beating out some big local programs. He recently received an offer from Indiana. Bill is putting together very nice classes in back to back years. And now we're actually going to have a team with a significant amount of size. A lot of credit should go to Tavares Hardy, though.
  13. I haven't seen any corroboration on this yet. It's most likely a mixup of the Mateo situation, but considering Hendry's love of unnecessary bullpen shuffling, I wouldn't be surprised.
  14. Well, to be honest, I just rewatched that episode on Friday, so it's fresh on my mind.
  15. Bart: Oh boy! Free trading cards! Milhouse: Wow! Joseph of Arimathea! Twenty six conversions in A.D. 46. Nelson: Whoa, a Methuselah rookie card! http://www.simpsoncrazy.com/gallery/screenshots/9f21/9f21_009.jpg
  16. Considering Hill threw less than 30 pitches after not pitching for a week and a half, he better be starting soon.
  17. What, no bee hive update?
  18. I don't think Lou is joking.
  19. Can we just go back to Dusty? I at least prefer crazy and nice to crazy and angry.
  20. Next time the Cubs face Cy Young, I'm sure we'll see Pie in the lineup. But we all know Felix would be in over his head against these "regular" pitchers.
  21. Roast, what's the policy on chucking boxes of toothpicks onto the field from the bleachers?
  22. It's okay that Cedeno isn't playing even though he's the hot hand. If we learned anything from Dusty, it's that putting players in favorable matchups so they can succeed (fail in limited playing time) trumps playing the hot hand if that hot hand is a young player with a ceiling.
  23. As I posted in the minor league forum, they didn't release any Club Box Infield seats for the general on-sale yesterday morning. I'd imagine that they held all of those back for Chiefs season ticket holders and guests. You should be getting pretty good seats.
  24. He wasn't right before the 9 days rest. He also wasn't bad (5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 3 K on 84 pitches at Coors and 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K on 82 pitches vs. the Pirates). Not pitching Hill was not and will not be an acceptable solution to his control problems. I'd love for Lou to at least once not over-react and to see the big picture, but I don't see that happening.
