  1. They've taken their second best starter, told him he was doing everything wrong following a rough ST and wild but effective start to the season, tried to redo his mechanics, put him in the bullpen, put him back in the rotation, skipped a start, and then pulled him in the first inning. He had a sub-4.00 ERA and has only struggled with command. Now he'll be sent to Iowa. Just brilliant managing and coaching right there. Piniella and Rothschild really work miracles.
  2. He'll come in to face a single lefty in the 4th inning, I'm sure.
  3. Sampson is joining Skiles' staff in Milwaukee. And in Indiana news:
  4. He probably didn't do anything significant to his arm after he went back onto the mound, but what a stupid decision by Yost. It's like the NL Central is in some bizarre repeating loop.
  5. The latest on the BTN/Comcast negotiations: It seems like Comcast felt a little additional pressure with their upcoming launch of the Pac-10 network. Even though the Pac-10 is in FOX territory, the Comcast-owned Pac-10 network getting better coverage than the FOX-owned Big Ten Network in Comcast territory wouldn't play over too well. But the bottom line is that all signs point to the deal getting done by the end of the summer.
  6. They'll certainly sell over 10,000 tickets. Seats aren't going all that fast. For those who are still interested and want to grab field box infield seats, you may want to wait until the sections behind home plate start to fill up and the sections behind the dugouts become available. I wonder if you can get these at the box office, too. I selected my order to be will call, so it's possible, in which case you'd be able to get a more precise pick of sections. I also wouldn't be surprised if they release a bunch of club box infield seats shortly before the game. I don't see any upper deck seats available right now, either. They may be holding back the UD box seats for once the lower deck sells out.
  7. Bah. They must be holding back Club Box Infield for the Chiefs season ticket holders. The best I could do was row 5 in section 121. Still not sure I can go, but I'm sure I can sell them if I can't make it.
  8. I didn't see the link posted on Cubs.com, but I was able to get this one through tickets.com: http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?pid=6247823&agency=CUBS_MINORLEAGUE
  9. I just got a ticket from Laura today. I probably won't be able to make it down there before the gates open, but I won't argue if someone wants to save me a front row seat.
  10. Even after tickets.com fees, $20 for a club seat wouldn't be bad at all. This year, club seats on value dates are $50 each before fees.
  11. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday May 2, at 9 AM on Cubs.com: The game starts at 7:05. I was actually hoping it would be a day game.
  12. Fitz will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2008. \:D/
  13. Bah. The weather is nice, it's a value day, and there are great seats available. Stupid work.
  14. Being able to have those conversations is why Tim left Cubs.com and created this board.
  15. who? I think he means "gave up a home run."
  16. There's no need for that language. According to the Trib, Cuban will be in attendance tonight:
  17. That's hilarious, but how did Fontenot not get to third on that?
  18. It looked like a possible right elbow to the groin...
  19. I just watched it without the sound, as well, but that was pretty darn awesome.
  20. Well I'm happy.
  21. Was that a straight change? What the heck was that pitch?
