  1. How often is Zambrano gonna have to pitch his way out of jams? How often is he gonna pitch himself INTO them ????? I expected this kind of response.
  2. no and no so, why is marbury at first and where is walker? crapface started at 1st, wal-kah is at 2nd Fixed.

  4. asdfl;asdjkfklsaj omg justification for my beliefs someone please don't quote this and say "sample size"
  5. I don't even want this tool on the roster. Which reminds me WHY IS MURTON SO LOW ON THE BATTING ORDER
  6. I don't even want this tool on the roster.
  7. I don't know why Dusty is so scared to bat someone like Murton at lead off. Its cuz he's not "prototypical" ? He doesn't have as much speed, but his OBP is far superior to a Pierre. Its idiotic.
  8. Once, while standing near the visitor's bullpen before a Marlins game during batting practice at Wrigley, I watched Juan Pierre play catch with one of the Marlins' pitchers. Juan was standing around 2nd base and the pitcher was standing right in front of the wall behind the bullpen. Juan threw the ball, the pitcher failed to catch it, and it hit a little kid in the head. The kid cried for a few seconds, but everyone knew he wasn't hurt because it was a Juan Pierre throw. A bunch of Marlins pitchers autographed the ball for the kid, by the way.
  9. The difference is that Johnny Damon is an all around better center fielder, through and through.
  10. Thats a dumb lineup. Murton is best at leadoff, he has the highest OBP...so its natural.
  11. If we somehow cut this lead to 2 in this inning, we have a shot at winning this game. If they can come back from a 6 run deficit, there might be a glimmer of hope with this team.
  12. 3. Seeing Pie called up to replace Pierre in Center Field.
  13. I got a hunger and that hunger can only be fed with some pie. Some Felix Pie.
  14. Dusty, the 2 main stats that are meaningful in a baseball players are such: On Base percentage and Slugging Percentage thats it. not speed. not...your face. not...being named neifi perez. Just those.
  15. why isn't McCarthy going to be starting? Yea, it would seem natural to just bump McCarthy back into a starting role. Funny that Contreras gets injured right after signing a long contract...sounds suspiciously like a certian player who got injured after signing an extension...
  16. Ok, so how many consecutive losses will it take to get Dusty fired? 10 more? I assume you mean consecutive CUBS losses? No, Cardinals losses.
  17. Ok, so how many consecutive losses will it take to get Dusty fired? 10 more? Nope cuz he can just attribute everything to injuries and Hendry will believe that. too. Hendry is more responsible for the failure of this team then Dusty is anyway. Look at this roster. Its terrible.
  18. Ok, so how many consecutive losses will it take to get Dusty fired? 10 more?
  19. Detroit is looking dominant, again. (against a pretty good offensive team, to boot) 'Nother finals appearance? They have the easiest road to it of any team left. However, if the Spurs and Pistons are playing in the finals again this year, I may very well go blind. Agreed, that was an incredibly boring finals. Basketball in general seems boring to me when I really don't care about the teams competing. Football on the other hand, well you can sit me down in front of nearly any game and I'll have a hell of a time.
  20. Agreed. For example, everything Farnsworth says in this one is better than anything in today's chat. Farnsworth is amazing, but Jim Thome has his moments too. I particularly enjoy some of the ones chronicling Wood+Prior's injury adventures, one of them ended with Wood cutting off his own arm by accident. Oh man those guys crack me up.
  21. These teams are terrible, but its hard to admit... but our beloved Cubs are worse, ATM.
  22. Someone who is going to hit 45+ homers this year.
  23. I'm basically just watching my fantasy players, and I have a faint interest in the A's. (Moneyball...oh god I wish someone would buy Hendry or Baker that book)
