  1. I think people tend to overrate Taj Gibson a tad. Yeah he was a pretty competent player when we had a disastrous front court but remember this: He's not that young. He'll be 25 next season, so his career path isn't as promising as many might think it is. Basically if the trade cost us James Johnson I'd do it but if it cost us Taj Gibson I'd at least think about it.
  2. Michigan losing to Appalachian State will go down as one of my favorite sports games of all times The Michigan tears are so so sweet
  3. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/18798/what-next-for-t-mac
  4. Is it weird or too forward thinking of me to think we should sign him to a team friendly Evan Longoria-type deal now and lock up some of his free agency years (He'll be like 26 when he gets his first free agent deal, whoa)
  5. If we complete the Rudy Fernandez trade my excitement for next season may reach "Can't miss a single game" levels rather than "if it's on and I'm not doing anything I'll watch + playoffs"
  6. Playing Eastern/Wester/Illinois State is the only way the Illini ever get any wins so I don't mind it Its silly for top 25 caliber teams though, they may as well be pre-season games
  7. Waaaaay younger and already better with a bat I'm ok with it
  8. It really boggles the mind how bad we are against the Astros and Pirates
  9. This game could go 15 innings and the Cubs still wont score a run
  10. When you follow Cubs long enough you realize that games like these the Cubs never ever win
  11. Sucks we wont get Reddick, oh well I think we make one more signing before the off-season is over
  12. It doesn't bother me that Lebron chose to go to Miami. If what mattered the most to him, and the only thing that mattered at all, was to win a championship, then I think he (maybe only short term, who knows, though they are spending their money well even after the big 3 contracts) made the right choice. We could hem and haw and say that Chicago is a better destination given the youth and role players, but its certainly up for debate. Isn't he showing even more selflessness in the goal of winning by intentionally taking second or third banana status, AND taking less money? I dunno, I just don't see the arguments here. Why should he intentionally choose to join an inferior team and lift them up? Kobe had absolutely stacked teams for all of his championships, and the few times when his talent wasn't up to par he flat out didn't make the playoffs. He's still talked about as one of the greatest of all time. It just doesn't make sense to me. Though Lebron could make his legend anywhere, he still can make himself one of the greatest ever if they do some ridiculous things and win 70+ games and become repeat champions. Now I don't agree with the way he left at all, and it certainly left a sour taste in everyone's collective mouths, but I don't disagree with his decision. If I were in his shoes I'd also would have whittled it down to Miami and Chicago. Those gave me the best options to win immediately and win long term. I had my doubts with how much money Miami would have left to sign roleplayers but they're already making splashes with Mike Miller and Haslem and possibly Big Z. If they get ANYTHING from their roleplayers they'll steamroll the Eastern Conference. It remains to be seen what will happen, but it sure will be an exciting season. Lets all hope a new CBA gets negotiated quickly, I've never been more excited in the NBA since I was 10 years old.
  13. I'm unironically rooting for the Reds to win the World Series too bad Adam Dunn isn't there anymore
  14. I know its a really horrible thought, but something we must all stomach. *notices poster's signature...* *notices poster's name is "Vanilla Ice"* Holy [expletive], you're the White Devil, don't let him get to our team or we'll be starting 5 white guys !!?!?
  15. As a college student with often really open schedules, I loved the day games, but now those days are over :(
  16. Bulls making a lot of shrewd moves and really supplementing their roster. If you had told me before the off-season began that we wouldn't get one of Bosh, Wade and Lebron I'd say the offseason was doomed for failure, but they are really making good use of their cap space. Its gonna be exciting seeing them lose in the Eastern Conference Finals.
  17. i'll drop you like a bag of dirt, old man
  18. Hahaha, Boozer really knows how to grease these guys up, he just said Noah was a guy who scored 30 plus points and 20 plus rebounds in games and was also 7'2''
  19. This rules, this whole situation is the best troll of the real world ever. I, personally, don't know if I like or dislike Lebron anymore but I at least admire how much of America he's pissed off in a week long media frenzy. And the best thing is, even with the most concentrated talent in the league, it'll be very hard for them to not be disappointing. Oh I think they'll win a title or two in the 5 years they'll be together, but I don't see it happening next year, and I don't think they'll sweep all 5 titles. It'll be a debacle when they don't win next year, looooool
  20. Are we convinced a Lebron-Wade-Bosh and 9 scrubs would be a championship team? (I'm assuming they have to trade Beasely to get the rest of the space, and Wade and Bosh agree to take a little less) I mean I'm sure they'd be spectacular each night, but those 3 guys can't play 48 minutes a game and even the Celtics with their fearsome 3 had amazing play from roleplayers such as Perkins, Rondo and recently Glenn Davis
  21. So this means I don't have to mail my toe to C.C., right? So I got that going for me :good:
  22. I suppose its really just Bosh wanting to play with Wade (and 9 other scrubs!), though and I am clear of biases here, if he really wanted to win he'd be going to Chicago. Hard to believe Toronto wouldn't take a S&T from us but seeked one out from the Cavs who...have far less appealing trade pieces. Oh well, lets keep our last hopes alive now
