  1. I just saw Jayson Werth has a 46 game on base streak. I thought he was pretty cooked as a player when we last played them, and I when I went to look at his numbers I expected to see them vastly improve, what with the streak and all, but he still only has a 108 OPS+. That means he must have been extremely consistently just OK for 46 straight games.
  2. we're like 4-5 bad pitches from having 22 in a row
  3. I miss ragin' Ted Lilly, the soft-spoken bad ass
  4. They have sucked mightily since the break. The Dodgers starters are putting up around. 5.00 era since the break and have still passed SF in the standings The Mets, Giants and Dodgers all taking turns being bad makes me feel really good at the NL. All of these things can only play incremental roles in our chances in the playoffs, but I'll take increments, damnit
  5. someone replace that "100 years Morty" rant from Rick and Morty but make it about Kris Bryant Thank you
  6. i'll take it eternal humiliation to the brewers
  7. i'm furious about every single warning track fly balls
  8. Having a multiple run lead going into the 9th doesn't really qualify as an 'escape' this is a solid 95% chance win type game. Annoying stuff going on with our pitchers, Joe testing poor Spencer and poor Spencer breaking under the pressure. It is what it is.
  9. Keeping Patton out there for a 3rd inning seems very cruel
  10. Its cool that Kris Bryant has two "Kris Bryant Games" this year
  11. This is kind of a terrible spot to use Patton but Joe really likes to test his new RP by throwing them into the fire
  12. That's his 2nd homer of this series. I still don't know who he is
  13. Yeah its hard to draw conclusions as you said. The Cubs 'slumped' to a .330-335 OBP team in June and July (assuming you can draw a conclusion that higher OBP = more pitches seen per AB). During that period they disproportionately played a lot of good teams and faced a lot of good starts and the schedule was road heavy. Now they've spent almost 6 whole weeks at home and have played some bad teams. They were also forced to start players like Albert Almora because of injury, players who do not take many pitches. Ugh
  14. I should blame myself for thinking that 2015 2nd half Jake Arrieta was what we'd get from here on out, forever. Even Struggling-With-Control Arrieta is better than 95% of the pitchers in the National League, but I still find myself frustrated and mournful. This is my personal failing. I apologize, but can do nothing about it. EDIT: Also following the pitchtrax on Gameday and Arrieta is not getting very many favors on his zone when he's close
  15. I'm glad your name has changed. I send the good ju-ju to Heyward
  16. The Brewers Will Always Be Bad, and We Will Always Be Good
  17. Sczcur has been swinging a really hot bat
  18. Nieuwenhuis has 11 home runs on the season, 5 of them have been hit against the Cubs its just like, lol
