  1. Even though Heyward sucks and i don't have any expectation he'll stop sucking this year, I do have this weird expectation that he'll do something extremely heroic in the playoffs
  2. Kyle Hendricks has 12 strike outs? Hot diggity damn he just keeps getting better
  3. hit into fewer double players, and give up fewer home runs to bad white baseball players
  4. FINALLY Duke. I'm just kidding, I'm very grateful for your work, its been super illuminating.
  5. Soler has upped his OPS by like 80 points in like a week
  6. There are pitchers that are bad and continue to be bad and yet stay in the league forever and Jerome Williams is one such pitcher
  7. death, taxes, and some dumb cardinal with a stupid name will hit random home runs against the Cubs. He also has to be white, have little physical talent, and have a poor minor league track record
  8. Not a great fielding day, also doesn't matter
  9. I'm not seeing storms near me until 6 again and the sky looks pretty clear so I'm optimistic about this
  10. I hope the idiot cardinals are happy with retaliating and giving us a free run
  11. its time for all the cardinals scrubs to sit down
  12. Ah well. I'll take 2 runs and a 30 pitch disaster inning for Wainwright.
  13. For pretty much a full calendar year the Cubs have been far and away a significantly better team than the Cardinals. Owned them through the regular season and owned them in the playoffs. As a longstanding Bears and Cubs fan...it feels good.
  14. this is an incredible stat Also check out the Cubs starter eras month by month: [tweet] [/tweet] Maybe the most shocking but gratifying thing about this teams success the last two years is that its strongest facet has been its starting pitching. Effectiveness, health, dependability. And thats the facet of the game the Cubs have self-consciously thrown together as its needed to. Not through the draft, but through smart trades, evaluation, and coaching. Its incredible.
  15. Poor Mike Montgomery not being able to locate his pitches has probably set off a stupid beanball war
  16. oh man these meatballs are gonna be so mad at us
