  1. I'd rather get this out of our system before facing the Cardinals.
  2. Hampton and Holmes on the Score today did a fake Dos Equis commercial about Vinny. I highly recommend listening to it if it's available on their website or anything (that site is blocked for me at work). Funny stuff, especially if you don't like Vinny.
  3. Lee is making me not like him, and I don't like that.
  4. Bruce was having a Soto-like start before this series wasn't he?
  5. Ah, yes, a walk down memory lane .... Would he have kept Zambrano from giving up a triple?
  6. I'm watching ESPN's gamecast, and it keeps popping up ESPN.com commercials between innings... And I just realized that's John C Mcginley's voice doing the voiceover. Huh.
  7. Maybe Samardzija to the rotation, Hart to the bullpen...or whoever.
  8. I'm glad he's such a man of his principles, but he's only giving up about $62,000 if he drops his suspension (probably about $40K after taxes). If you make 100K, it would be paying a $617 fine. Whoopity doo. Yeah, I'm sure that someone making $100k a year that gets fined $617 would just "shoot, that's pocket change. I've got that in my wallet. I didn't do anything wrong, but I can't even be bothered to fight it it's such a small amount."
  9. RBI's by Ankiel, Ryan, and...Lohse give the Cards a 4-1 lead.
  10. HAHA....On Joakim Noah:
  11. I laughed at this part:
  12. Exactly. It's more than just Milton here. He has to have Union representation at any appeals process. There's a lot of red tape that goes on with all that stuff. Milton is following the process that MLB requires for an appeal.
  13. There's no way the Bears are gonna be trading for any more players this offseason...not big name ones anyway. They spent a ton on Cutler...I think they'll take their chances with the draft and maybe some free agents at this point.
  14. I was waiting for that. That's fine...I earned that one.
  15. If you get suspended at work for 2 days, no pay, but you don't think you did what you're accused of doing would you just take the punishment because maybe your company wouldn't get some big account otherwise? If he legitimately thinks he didn't do anything, he's got every right to appeal.
  16. Yeah. I'm in this camp. I'd love for him to follow the Marmol development path.
  17. Unless Lou thinks he's still not full strength after seeing him play yesterday. Damn you're smart.
  18. Unless Lou thinks he's still not full strength after seeing him play yesterday.
  19. To play RF?
  20. http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/paxson_050422.jpg
  21. But Latroy still sucked as a closer. 9 blown saves in '04.
  22. I don't think for a second the guy is healthy right now. Keep Hoff out there until the guy is fully healed.
  23. What? Come on now. When I saw that Banedon posted this, I was pretty much speechless. Open mouth, insert foot. I meant something quite different, and posted in a rush, but at this point, rather than try to correct it, it's probably just better if I just acknowledge the Harden has been great for the Cubs, and leave it at that.
  24. I don't know about Hairston, but Rusch and Marquis both got paid more than "average player" salary. I know Marquis was...and I think Rusch got too much too if I remember right. Anyway, I think the average fan probably doesn't do the expectations vs performance comparison. They just remember key games. And those guys had more spectacular failures than they did successes. The Harden one is unfair, I agree. But he's not lived up to the "star" expectations he came in with so far. I don't see the booing of Rusch, Marquis, Hairston, sorry. Harden's Cubs ERA: 2.20. 12 K/9 innings. 4.20 ERA so far this season. I know, only 2 games pitched and all, but he didn't have a great spring...fans were a bit jumpy. Booing Harden was unfair...and I'm not defending that. Just explaining it some.
