I can't get to youtube from work...but was it intentional? or a mis-hit that he got lucky on?
  2. Greenberg did have the Cubs as WC.
  3. What's a matter? You don't like Derrek Lee? yeah, him too. guess I forgot him. lol...but I like the inclusion of Peavy.
  4. I watched the game and was into it last night but this is still what I'm most excited about. I have to try and not think about it for fear of being completely useless using my brain for anything else. That sounds like it should be in the "I'm worried about..." thread. But yeah, I'm right there with you.
  5. Apparently Zack Zaidman of the Score is the source of that... http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/369997-jay-cutler-wants-plaxico-on-the-bears
  6. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/1516176,CST-SPT-bear08.article Bold added by me.
  7. Man I hope Geo's right and it's just a little nothing.
  8. You can't be too far from the all-felon team at this point, right? When do you guys get Plax?
  9. He's really not, but ok. See what you say in June when he's blown three or four saves. I'd rather have Ceda on the roster. So the fact that you'd rather have Ceda on the roster is justification for saying he's brutal? He's not. Your made up hypothetical isn't really much support for your case either. No I made my point on the number of walks/9 innings Gregg has had over the last two years and the number blown saves that Gregg has amassed in his short time as a closer. Also, I don't need any support, this thread is about small sample size, but whatever, he sucks. You didn't say anything about walks or his blown saves during his time as a closer. You threw out a hypothetical about his blown saves by June. I named Wood because he was a very good closer for us last year, and was in the same situation as "brutal" Kevin Gregg was in your hypothetical. Gregg may be good, and Gregg may be bad. But if he has 4 blown saves by June, it doesn't mean squat. And that was the point of my post. EDIT: Oops, didn't quote the right one. Meant to quote your reply to my post...oh well.
  10. He's really not, but ok. See what you say in June when he's blown three or four saves. I'd rather have Ceda on the roster. Kerry Wood blew 4 saves by June 1 last year. How brutal was he?
  11. Yes, as long as TLR is there, I will be worried about them. But here we are talking about issues from last year that didn't get resolved. That bullpen is wretched again. Wretched again? I'd like to know what your idea of good is if you considered the Cubs bullpen wretched. Me thinks you don't know what you're talking about. You might want to reread the previous posts. They're talking about the Cardinals.
  12. Bah...you fail at this thread. :)
  13. Sounds like Angelo is picturing Ced Benson when he's saying that. I think Ced really burned Angelo.
  14. Post the things you're worried about after a nice small sample size of games. For example, after one game, all my Fukudome fears have returned. I'm just not sure this guy is ever going to be what we thought he'd be when we brought him here. I'm going to find myself looking forward to Reed Johnson's days to play. I wonder how patient Lou will be with him in that #2 spot.
  15. !!? Hahahahahahahah Ryan Ankiel Pujols GREENE Ludwick Molina Duncan Barden Wainwright Greene batting cleanup is, of course, highly amusing. But I think Schumaker not being in there is possibly more surprising.
  16. Really interesting quote from Angelo from that article:
  17. I realize that I'm preaching to the choir, but this is one of the worst conclusions I've ever heard...
  18. I wish it just eliminated the oldest quote automatically when you hit the quote button to begin with, but that's just being picky.
  19. The Bears offense is built on yards after the catch. They need someone that can get the ball in the open field and take it to the house. In order to get away from the defender that much, they need to be able to run great routes. Hester can do it occassionally. Yeah, use the TE's for the inside more physical routes.
  20. Maybe he can hitch a ride in Paul Sullivan's suitcase. Too bad Bruce...gotta be a difficult time to be in your industry...along with a lot of other too I guess, but still.
  21. Talk about possibly the best off season a team has had in a long time. This would be it if they were to pick up Plax. If he's not going to jail, the need is certainly there and there aren't any other guys on the team who are a problem.. I see no reason not to do it. I don't see how a team that released Tank Johnson can then pick up Burress.
  22. Anyone ... ? Any thoughts...? Not worth it, IMO. I don't think there's any chance the Bears get back in the 1st. They'd have to trade their 2nd and a pretty good player or another 2010 pick. As for DHB, I like him but always thought of him as being way too risky and more likely to bust than boom. However, with Cutler on the field, no raw offensive talent scares me. Eddie Royal had an excellent year out of nowhere for Denver. I don't think they want back in the first round...don't wanna pay first round money.
  23. The introduction is today, right? Anyone know when? They said yesterday on Boors and Bernstein that they'd have Cutler on at 3pm today.
  24. well, there's nothing wrong with be cautious with your optimism. i'm not as bothered by the situation in Denver because his rep coming out of college was the complete opposite of that. really the only thing i'm worried about as far as Cutler goes is an injury, but that would go for any good QB. Screw cautious optimism. Seriously, if you can't get yourself excited for this deal, I really don't know what would get you excited. The Bears have a 25 year old pro bowl franchise QB with 3 years left on his contract. They gave up some draft picks...2 of them first round, which have not been something Angelo does very well. Plus they don't have to pay out first round bonuses for 2 years now. I refuse to step back and be cautious. This is a once in a generation trade. This kind of trade just doesn't happen in the NFL. I'm going to freaking enjoy every second of it, no matter who wants to try to water it down.
  25. Didn't see this anywhere.... http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/42367217.html
