The problem for me on 12 wasn't that he went for the center of the green, it was club selection. He went with a 9 iron that he had to smash to get it there. He should have gone with less power on more club. The start of that round is what it was. But the tournament is won and lost at the end of the round on Sunday. And nobody went after it. I just would like to see the Champion be someone that played great golf at the end. I don't think any of them played great golf at the end. oh i agree but that was more the fault of the guys who made the playoff. tiger and phil didn't lose the tourney on sunday, they lost it by not shooting lower scores the previous 3 days. especially on saturday, they needed to make their move but they sorta just ended up treading water. Agreed. Tiger and Phil both need to start playing better early rounds. Especially Tiger...he's done the late comeback thing a little too often.

  4. Did Soriano look a little gimpy there to anyone else?
  5. lol...we have to lead the league in RWI right now.
  6. Which means it was a normal human's belt.
  7. I'm sensing a "4 runs walked in" inning.
  8. Died in the broadcast booth. Sad as it is, probably appropriate.

That is a bunch of nonsense. That was a great final round. The finish was anti-climactic, but the whole day was riveting. Tiger plays in and out of trees all the time. Guys were coming up with great shots left and right. It wasn't a storybook ending, but it was entertaining. Tiger plays in and out of trees...not off of them. I've never seen him clunk a tree like that. And yes, Phil and Tiger were playing great much of the day till the end, but the leaders played what...even par or higher rounds?
  10. Whatever works! it's good to see him stroking it in the 2-hole My inner second grader is quite amused. Did you hear the one about Edmonds taking it in the Pujols? *snicker*
  11. Reed is a capable fill-in when Bradley is out. And frankly I'd rather Bradley sit out if the field is gonna be this wet.
  12. It didn't happen on one of the coasts, so it's not newsworthy.
  13. They aren't making any decisions till closer to game time. But I'd suspect it'll be postponed. They should be able to play the rest of the week, so no reason not to postpone till tomorrow.
  14. Blanco had a 2 HR game the other night. I know that doesn't mean crap, but thought I'd try to help stir things up.

That was one of the most disappointing majors in recent memory. It was a choke fest. Nobody wanted it. They had a whole montage thing with Nick Faldo saying that all Master champions had one thing in common...they played great in the last 9 holes on Sunday. But not this time, Nick...Out of Cabrera, Perry, Campbell, Woods and Mickelson, only Perry played good down the stretch, but even he had some awful shots. The most surreal moment for me was Tiger hitting that tree...I mean...I do that crap....Tiger's not supposed to.
  16. It's like a who's who of all the Chicago radio personalities that I can't stand. Keep them all in one place...away from my ears.
  17. It was brought up here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=53646&start=75 But it's worthy of its own thread. Although I think that blurb takes the article out of context a bit. I'm sure the Cubs are checking their options, but all indications from Soto himself are that he should be able to play on Friday from what I've seen.
  18. Wonder how antsy you are going to get sitting for 10 hours before the Bears first pick. Ha..yeah...I was gonna say..not having a first round pick has me less than antsy.

A few years back, I was playing a hole heading one direction, and another group was coming back the other direction on the next hole that shared a boundary with the one I was on. Anyway, there was a pond that was toward the end of my hole (beginning of theirs) and I watched as the guy hit off the tee, it skipped twice off the pond, managed to get out, but then hit a tree, caromed way up in the air like an outfield fly ball, and plopped right back in the water. Was quite a funny sight.
  20. I can only speak for myself. I liked what I saw last night, and I hope like hell he can continue it. But just like it took me a while to lose confidence in him, it's going to take some time to rebuild it.
  21. I'm really curious to see what Chris Carpenter does today. How well he does (and how well his arm remains attached to his body) will go a long way toward determining how much of a threat the Cardinals will be this season. The Pirates may not be the best measuring stick, but it's what we got for now. Pitt@STL Ohlendorf vs Carpenter 12:40pm CT
  22. Milton Bradley - hitless. (though he does have 4 walks)
  23. Fontenot as well.
