  1. You ask me 'bout this thing we share...and he tenderly replies....It's guy love...between two guys.
  2. True, but if a large part of it isn't signing bonus, then if you cut him you'll have a whole lot of dead salary sitting on your cap. Snyder can afford to give out massive signing bonuses, but if they don't here it could come back to bite them. It's the bonus that counts against the cap. If they cut him before the end of the contract, it's only the prorated portion of the signing bonus that is a cap hit (if I'm understanding correctly).
  3. Where did you hear that? per Rotoworld: Wow, can't blame the Titans for not matching that, though. I don't know that I'd pay Albert $15-16 million a year and I really wouldn't give him more than 3-4 years. As much as I love Haynesworth, if this is the deal he's getting he can move on. The Redskins will hate that contract in about 3-4 years, though, I suspect. Depends on the signing bonus. i would assume the 15-16 per includes the signing bonus. Yes, but the signing bonus is all that is guaranteed. So it could 1 bazillion dollars over 100 years and it wouldn't matter if the signing bonus was like $3 million, they could cut him the day after they signed him and only have to worry about that $3 mil.

  5. Including the bitching.
  6. Consistently a turnstyle?
  7. Lemme crush #2 for you right now. Lou told Paul Sullivan yesterday that Soriano was most likely going to be leadoff opening day. Lou was just rambling before I think...
  8. Well the Chicago part is right. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi090219-chicago-bulls-larry-hughes-trade-knicks,0,2809280.story
  9. No great place to post this..it's not a ST picture, just an anecdote, but I'm gonna post it here since I don't wanna start a thread for it.. I just thought it was quite funny from the perspective of being a father...
  10. Fred Taylor was released from the Jags. Any interest in him to back up Forte?
  11. Yeah, 3rd base backup is going to be an adventure.
  12. It sounds like it already kinda changed in there once after he recited his list of options and kinda wasn't impressed...heh. How's the weather? *sigh*
  13. See the thread below this one...:)
  14. I really want Lee out of the #3 spot. Badly.
  15. I like the idea of a good Fukudome up there in leadoff or #2....but my fear of bad Fukudome is keeping me from pulling that mental trigger. i edited after you quoted me to say that if he fails move him down to 8th and put Bradley in the 2-hole. really, i'd just like to see the most productive hitters get the most PAs for the most part. Won't happen but Soriano Bradley Soto Ramirez Lee Fukudome Fontenot Theriot

  17. Corey Provus officially hired by the Brewers will be Bob Uecker's partner. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2009/02/provus-signs-on-with-brewers.html
  18. I know it's just 8 games out of 162, but man I hate these...only games I don't get. Starting in two domed locations. Did MLB learn?
  19. Was just having some fun...I'll change it if it's too much of a nuisance...:P
  20. Lou says he may move Soriano down in the lineup. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2009/02/piniella-may-move-soriano-from-leadoff-spot.html Clear as mud, Lou. Oh yeah...that's gonna work out greaaaaat. EDIT: Changed the subject for ease of reference.
  21. OMG...Leon Durham...inexplicably my favorite Cub when I was a kid. I was pissed at Mark Grace for taking Leon's job for a long time... http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Durham.jpg
  22. The Brian Roberts thread lived until Opening Day. So long as this thread doesn't go off the deep end, we'll let this go till then. you're using the term "lived" rather loosely Very true.
