  1. There's a whollllllle lotta "maybe" in that post. 8-)
  2. Wow. A conclusion to one of the two Cubs stories that have seemingly been going for eternity. Now if the other one will just finish well...:)
  3. They're waiting to announce it on the same day that Ron Santo gets inducted into the HoF.
  4. CNNsi.com and ESPN both have mock drafts out. Mel Kiper's on ESPN only has 1-16 available for free. The entire round is on Insider. Someone tell me who he has picked for the Bears please.
  5. It's not exactly stepping out on a limb, but I'd wager this trade happens during the season, rather than before it.

$80 for 18holes? Man...I play the cheap courses...$24 /w cart, $17 without. That's affordable. If I had to play $80 for 18, I'd only play once or twice a year.

    Golf

Bumping the golf thread in the middle of winter is mean.
  8. Well that's odd. Why would you accept a position just to interview for another?
  9. Well thank goodness Tebow isn't coming out. I didn't want Angelo to be tempted with another Florida QB. Wuerffel, Grossman...can we be done there? It might have already been said...but the Chargers loss ensures the Bears are getting the 18th pick.
  10. I've only seen Leftwich once this season, and that was last night. And he threw a laser that should have been hauled in. I was impressed, though it was only a single pass of course. Orton hasn't thrown a ball like that...that's for sure.
  11. Prefer him enough to give up "premium pitching"? Maybe...but I think those teams are probably nuts.
  12. Sure, because they lied. Saying true things about someone at a time that's inconvenient to them? Not so much.
  13. If you want to talk about football, fine. If you want to bicker and insult one another, take it to PM's, or AIM, or whatever. In any case, if the thread gets locked again, it's not getting unlocked.
  14. BTW...full disclosure here....I did formerly live in Idaho. Not as rough of winters, but still.
  15. once you get past the up-front costs, it's really cheap to be dead. It's called cost of living for a reason.
  16. I bet the cost of living is cheap in ND. I'll go with ND.
  17. yes. in the same sense that I could be a stripper Aaron Miles was paid to play the OF in 6 games last season. How many times were you paid to strip last year?
  18. He's gonna get a lucky shallow OF blooper to win a game at some point, and you're gonna hear about his guts, and grit, and how he plays the game the right way. Wrong. Black guys can't be gritty. Don't you know the rules? I dunno. How else has Juan Pierre built a career if not for his grit? I think this rule needs to be challenged. Surely Neifi was gritty. Tony Womack. I never thought they were characterized as gritty. Juan was given the "speed doesn't slump" monikor, Neifi was a versatile sure-handed professional hitter (yes, I read that he was a professional hitter). And Womack was just Tony Womack. Silly argument of course, but doing a google search for all three with the word "gritty" included turns up hits for all 3 where gritty was used in reference to them (admittedly, I found only one direct usage of it for Neifi and Womack each).
  19. He's gonna get a lucky shallow OF blooper to win a game at some point, and you're gonna hear about his guts, and grit, and how he plays the game the right way. Wrong. Black guys can't be gritty. Don't you know the rules? Unless they are Juan Pierre. Oh...beaten by one post. That's gotta be disappointing.... ;)

  22. Reed is worthwhile. The other two leave enough to be desired that they shouldn't be considered viable options for a supposed championship contender to fill in 40 games missed by one of its 3-4-5 hitters. Miles can play some OF too, right?
